nc69stang 10 Report post Posted March 7, 2014 I have two 69 mustang coupes. One has side ornaments, the other does not. I stripping one of them and doing the body work. Someone fiberglassed over the area where the side ornament goes. The old fiberglass was removed. Do I leave the indention or buy side ornaments or scoops? If I need to buy, where can I buy them? I checked NPD and CJ Pony. They have the chrome piece, but not the whole part.
nc69stang 10 Report post Posted March 7, 2014 Does the part on NPD just fit into the hole? My other mustang has an large fake vent on the side that sticks out from the body?
Rsanter 152 Report post Posted March 7, 2014 The large fake scoop sounds like the Shelby scoops used on the convertibles. Thos look good on those cars and can be made to function. A friend with a 69 coupe welded in a flat piece of metal over the indentation and did the bodywork. It looks good without the reverse scoop IMO Bob
9RO1M 12 Report post Posted March 7, 2014 Its up to you which way you go with scoops. They dont make repro ornaments so you will have to buy them second hand. Not to hard to get
schweigert 13 Report post Posted March 7, 2014 I put on those Shelby convertible side scoops- they look decent but don't mount flush
