very fat and very dumb 40 Report post Posted February 25, 2014 If you have a 351W shaker base can you please tell me what number is stamped on it? I found one that is stamped 470071 and 470072. I'm not sure if this is correct or a cobbled together piece. You can see both numbers on the attached. I'm thinking about trading my Boss 302 base for it and I need to be sure it's right. Thank you in advance.

very fat and very dumb 40 Report post Posted March 2, 2014 I've seen that site before, it actually further complicates the matter. They don't list a part number for the 351W base and although the base in my photo does have a 351C number on it (as well as another number) it does not have the "donut" looking bulge around the carb hole. So it looks like a 351W but has 2 part numbers on it. I thought if someone could look at their 351W base maybe it would anser my question.
69droptopgt 10 Report post Posted March 2, 2014 If I remember right, that part number listed on the site is not on the bases. So you have to look at the differences (measurements, stamping and ect.). Here is more info at the boss site (more pics and measurements): http://www.boss302.com/shaker.htm
indianfiremach 170 Report post Posted March 3, 2014 (edited) There is no part number on the 1969 351W shaker base. I have one that I'm not going to use that's in really nice shape. I sent you a PM and would be interested in a trade. Edited March 3, 2014 by indianfiremach
indianfiremach 170 Report post Posted March 4, 2014 (edited) Here's some pictures of the 351w shaker: Edited March 4, 2014 by indianfiremach
69gmachine 15 Report post Posted March 4, 2014 I finally got around to looking at mine. It's a 70 Windsor and also has no part number stamped on it. The one in the picture posted by indianfire is a '69. The only differnces are a plastic elbow instead of the metal one, and a star plug on the other side of the breather inlet that is absent on the '69. very fat and very dumb 40 Report post Posted March 5, 2014 Thanks for the info. I think it's odd that all the bases have numbers on them except the 351W, it doesn't follow Ford logic.
69droptopgt 10 Report post Posted March 5, 2014 Ford logic can be illogical at time lol. They are pretty cut and dry about many things but then there are those things that make you wonder why?
