backmarker 10 Report post Posted January 7, 2016 Fabricated a patch piece for the front frame section. Bought a replacement frame rail and cut off the front 12" and attached it to the old frame.
backmarker 10 Report post Posted January 7, 2016 Needed to modify the torque box to fit the frame. The top had to be extended to reach the frame rail. I cut the parking brake tube off the old box and welded it on the new box.
backmarker 10 Report post Posted January 7, 2016 New torque box welded in. Also taking advantage of the floor being out to fit the sub-frame connector.
unilec 57 Report post Posted January 8, 2016 Looks like a lot of good progress so far. Do you have the body clamped to a square tubular frame, these old cars tend to bend out of shape when panels are removed, especially verts.
backmarker 10 Report post Posted January 10, 2016 No I didn't have a tube frame to clamp everything too. I do have angle plate welded in the door openings to keep them from moving. Hope I will not be in for any bad surprises later.

Vicfreg 772 Report post Posted March 3, 2016 My 1970 Vert resto is on the project Forum. Some good pics of the rocker and other work on there. Mike had to stiffen my car up but it was missing rockers and had bad floor on same side.
