New Brake Line Test

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know how to bench test new brake lines for leakage to ensure that the double flares are being done right?

I would hate to make all my brake lines and come to find out that I made bad flares.

Thanks

A look at your flair is your best way to tell.

The double flair is a self sealing style flair, It is best to install them once at then check for leaks. Yes it seems like a pain but they are made to be compressed to seal once and match the shape of the fitting.

Always check the seatend side of the fitting for proper center/shape of the seat portion. This will be your mating surface, Angled or ovaled seat may cause leakage at some point.
