Air Conditioner too high on 428

I removed the 289 in my factory air 1968 Mustang & installed a 428. The air conditioner sits too high on the 428 & woun't clear the hood. Any suggestions?

You probably have the wrong year and/or model bracket. Do you know what it is from? Can you post a picture?

Here is a pic of the correct compressor mounting pad. Even with a conversion plate on top of that for a Sanden conversion, the unit is still shorter than using the factory York compressor. Mine clears just fine. B
