FIRED IT UP FOR THE FIRST TIME TODAY!!

It sounds good and STRONG with no leaks or other viewable issues. Cam survived the break-in and it starts quickly.

Unfortunately, I was too excited to take a video of the initial start. We will be putting the fenders and hood on over the next week and do the final buffing of the paint. Here are a couple of the pictures that were taken today.

where did you get the radiator from? I really like how it looks.

The radiator purchase was the result of a thread started by 7Tcatvert here on the Site (in the Technical Forum) wherein he noted he had purchased this radiator.

I subsequently purchased it off Ebay:

Still doing some fine tuning with the front end, i.e., hood locks, 428cj emblem on shaker, ect.

Will then be proceeding to adding spoilers (front and rear) and the rear window slats.

...the journey continues.

It has been a while since I provided an update. Over the past weekend had a custom exhaust installed. I went with the Borla 2.5 inch center inlet/offset outlet, with "X" pipe. Below are some pictures of the install.

I was contemplating using those on my FE as well. How do they sound? I had Magnaflows before but was wanting a more aggressive note.

It has been my experience that the sound really depends somewhat on the cam characteristics and the type of pipes, i.e., "X" or "H" pipes. In my case, I have the Comp 282S, a solid lifter grind, with the "X' pipes.

I will try to post up a short video of the sound in the next day or so.

I agree, BT. It's just I've had straight through Magnaflows on half a dozen small block and big block Ford's now and have been a little disappointed with the idle or low RPM sound. Give them a boot full and they sound awesome. But it's not what I wanted to happen again with the 69.

My cam is a custom grind Comp but will be running hydraulic rollers. I know, sound difference again to what yours is. Lots of components effect the overall.

It's a little disappointing when you got to so much effort, and cost, to build an exhaust and you are not 100% happy with it. A short video would be excellent to see!

The Borla's do look like a nice fit under your car though. As well as the H-pipe. Very nice.
