69mi 10 Report post Posted November 11, 2012 Hi, I am looking for a fender extension for my GT, driver side. Mine is cracked, and it is not possible to weld it. Thanks ;) kevin, i had a rear fender ext that was pretty effed up, cracked and a couple of holes punched thru. i found a guy who welded it up for me. i think he had a tig welder with some type of special high content aluminum rods. you might ask around. i didnt think you could weld pot metal either...but he did a nice job. 1957pistol 11 Report post Posted November 22, 2012 depending on the size of the crack and where, JB weld fixes pot metal the best. It takes time (use the real stuff and not the 5hr putty) and multiple layers, but I had the entire front lip missing and I rebuilt it with JB. when it hardens it is technically stronger than the pot metal its on. 1 JayEstes reacted to this
