samwe 0 Report post Posted January 5, 2013 New shoes and rubber:yes:.... What backpacking did you choose? I am about to order 17x8 (4.5bs) and 17x9.5 (6.0bs).
xplane 10 Report post Posted January 5, 2013 (edited) I went with 4.5" BS front and 5.5" BS rear. I had a 6.25" BS rear but it looked funny, I didn't think it have enough dish. Edited January 6, 2013 by xplane
samwe 0 Report post Posted January 12, 2013 I decided to get 5.75 in the back. I ordered on the 6th and they arrived today. I had them shipped to a friend in WA so I do not have them yet, but wow, that was quick!

xplane 10 Report post Posted January 12, 2013 (edited) What size are your wheels and tires? thanks 17x8" 245/45 fronts and 17x9.5" 285/40 rears, tires are Nitto 555's. I have the Wheel Vintiques magnum, not the AR500. Edited January 12, 2013 by xplane
prayers1 153 Report post Posted January 12, 2013 xplane- Thank you for sharing the dimensions of the tire and wheels. They really make the car look sharp! Any difference between the AR500's & Vintiques I wonder what rear tire Cornerstone went with?
Black Jade 43 Report post Posted January 17, 2013 I went with 17x8 with 4.75 bs all the way around. AR500's are a lot cheaper (price) than Wheel Vintiques.
xplane 10 Report post Posted January 17, 2013 xplane- Thank you for sharing the dimensions of the tire and wheels. They really make the car look sharp! Any difference between the AR500's & Vintiques I have detailed pictures of the Vintiques I will post if any of you AR guys would like to compare. The Vintique wheels are not light, I will weigh them for reference.
xplane 10 Report post Posted January 17, 2013 I have detailed pictures of the Vintiques I will post if any of you AR guys would like to compare. The Vintique wheels are not light, I will weigh them for reference. First two pictures are 17x9.5 with the two different backspacing I previously qouted . Wheel with no tire is 5.5" backspace. xplane 10 Report post Posted January 22, 2013 (edited) I weighed one of the rear wheels with a 285/40 Nitto 555, it tipped the scales at a portly 62 lbs. For comparison my 15x8" Minilite with a comparable size Hoosier 25.5x10-15 vintage race tire is 42 lbs! That's 40 lbs of additional unsprung weight on the rear axle! I also have a rear HRE 540 3 piece 18x9.5 wheel with a 285 tire on my '73 Formula which weighed in at 51 lbs. Edited January 22, 2013 by xplane
