Nightmare project

Recommended Posts

Today I wanted to sell my mustang, throw it off a cliff and give up on it. I had to dislocate the driveshaft from the rear axle so I can push it farther into the tranny housing since my tires were not lining. It was a hard task to when your by your self so my dad come home later and he help me get it. The rear looks high in the pic because it was still on the jack stands.Quarter panel in the works now.

I have a question are cougar leaf springs the same length as mustang springs because my rear leaf spring looks out of place. I don't know if the springs could be wrong I got them from cj pony I don't think they would carried cougar springs.

70Nightmare, when you welded on the quarter panel skins it looks like you laid the new skin on top of the old quarter or did you flange the old quarter?.You used clecos to hold it in place & then welded it. Have you finished the seam yet?.

It took me over 2 years to do my convertible..It was in the same shape..You are getting to the point where it is a car again and it changes up everything when you can see a light at the end of the tunnel..hang in there..when you are done everyone will be pleased...Cant wait to rip the quarters and floors out of my 70 fastback..I think this time i can do it faster...

You did bite off a big chunk...take a break for a month or ..so ...i changed projects many times mid stream...clear your head ...it will still be there when you start back on it...trust me its worth it...but when most of the body work is done and running the light at the end is near...by the way I use 3m seam sealer...paintable and flexable...

Keep it, like stated above take a break for a little while. I have been working on mine on & off for the last 10 years. Unfortunately more off then on, but in the last 3 1/2 years I have done more then the previous 6 1/2 years. When I get stressed I will take a break & then go back at it.
