Im not new to mustang fastback my first car was a 67 coupe got in it in 07 but sold it to get my dream car the 70 fastback. Had it for almost 2 years now. This time im doing a good amount of the work all by myself. Here is what it look like when I bought the car. Got to love the trunk repair with pop rivets I order all new sheet metal for the front doors, fenders, hood and a new grill did some patch work to. I went to efi route and bought a 92 gt. Me and my co-worker did the swap at his shop. The stang and the 92 With the swap compeleted back to body work on the rear.I got to replace both quarter and rear frame rails. I started to cut the trunk floors and rear frame rails out but rain out of cutting wheels:biggrin:. Edited September 21, 2012 by 70Nightmare

Junior2561 10 Report post Posted July 17, 2012 Looks like the drivers rail is up higher than the passenger side...might be the angle though. I do not recall what the exact specs are, there is a measurement sheet floating around Google search though.

Ash 145 Report post Posted July 19, 2012 That's after they arrive, realise they are full of rust and that we were lied to by the previous owner and then get rebuilt right, Lemon?
mymachone 13 Report post Posted July 19, 2012 Thanks ash. Junior I havent welded in therefore drive side frame rail in yet. @mymachone sometimes when you pay someone to do that sometimes u got to go over there work. That happen to my 67. Whats interesting for me is , I have worked and installed commercial steam boilers and have done complete boiler rooms , hugh boiler rooms like millions of btu type steam boilers. It's pc of cake for me but I have also heard the comments wow who know how to do this kind of stuff. So it just goes to show we all have talents . Yes I am a great Mechanic but looking at the kind of frame and body work many of you do , I Would never attempt.
70Nightmare 20 Report post Posted July 31, 2012 I finish welding the rear frame rails in and I also brace it with some 1/8 steel plate inside. I still need to grind down the weld outside. Its hard to clean the welds inside with the wirebrush but who cares no one will ever know. I also have to replace the outer rocker panel on the passenger side. 70Nightmare 20 Report post Posted August 4, 2012 I have a question the rear trunk brace is not lining up with both rear frame rails only one side is.
latoracing 256 Report post Posted August 4, 2012 Did you measure the frame rails from side to side before cutting them? The hole in the rear frame rail past the hole for the spring shackel should measure 43" CL. If this is not within .25", I would cut the welds on the frame rails and make shure everything lines up before solid welding anything. Using self taping sheet metal screws to mock all the parts up will help align and can be taken apart alot easier when making adjustments. I am installing trunk floors, and a bunch of other parts on mine, I know where you are comming from.
