andykbob 10 Report post Posted April 1, 2012 Some details... ENGINE- No issues must only be about 3400 miles since the rebuild. Cooling- Had a flex fan but had to switch to electric fan with a switch by the dash because I would drive the car to work sometimes and in the morning it can be pretty cold here, and the fan being on all the time cooled so well that the car would not be able to get to normal operating temperature. Exhaust- No issues, just loud and amazing Tranny- Had a small leak at the out put shaft caused by the yoke had some wear, so changed the seal and yoke. Clutch- Supposed to be a very expensive Kevlar clutch, I have had no issues. Drive/Diff - I installed 2 new U joints, The pucks are worn out in the diff so only one tire spins so Its hard to launch at the drag strip. Also changed oil seals on the axles due to leak. Brakes- All non power drums, but pads are new, thats was my next project, converting to discs. Which looks like all my parts are coming in for the front conversion. Front End- Everything is good there, espically when I changed to polyurethane bushings, but the steering box has some slop in it, So it is either and adjustment or the box is wearing out, but and easy change out. Glass - all good except the passenger window slop. Body- There car had a partial restoration when I got it so all the floors were new. And when I got it, the rear frame rails had a little hole and some rust so I got them taken out and replaced so there is no rust , under the car is perfect. Paint- the paint was done when the floors were done, I believe the guy said late 90's. It was an amazing job with tons of clear so it looks amazing from far away. When you look close im guessing 7 out of 10, there is some chips and also on the roof, the guy who I bout it off didn't secure the louvers so the ended up coming up and hitting the roof so there is 3 little spots. Interior- There is a couple of pieces missing, but I have all the parts now. I will be installing them soon. Little piece 12 " long that goes along the window on the passenger side, just have to buy the piece, interior piece on the driver side , rear upper quarter piece is missing. The front seats were re-upolstered, the rears has a small seam rip which you couldn't see until you pushed down on the seat. It has new carpets as well. The dash is also new, no cracks, the door panels do have a couple little cracks. The Tach doesn't work, not sure why but I was thinking of buying a different style and remounting it so I could see it better for the track. There is a couple of pieces of outside trim for the quarter windows that need to be installed and also the antenna need to be installed but the radio dosent work. Thats all I can think about right now.
