Hello everybody, luckly today I found the time to share with you in this very helpfull forum the restoration of my Janis :001_smile:

I found the car in Houston, March 2008, and I get her here in Italy some months later where I started this "adventure" with a good friend of mine

after a tons of grinding, welding and some new sheet metals, last year my buddy sandblasted the body in his garage

and as I hear sometimes "rust never sleep" so after the sandblast some new holes appeared, we fixed again and finally the body was ready for the epoxy primer :001_smile:, but before the sandblast I also did the upper control arm drop job

to be continued...

Coming out great, thanks for sharing the update!

So do you still have the Green car from when you first joined the forum?

Hey thanks to all you for your kindness:thumbup1:

I sold the green Mach1 in december 2007 because it need other works on it but I didn't want to invested money in a car with non correct engine and transmission and any options, I tried to found a better one but even the more expensive car does not satisfy me, I started to think to restore one since the change of currency was good and when I found this one on ebay.com I'm loved it. the auction said that the most job was done and it was almost ready to be paint, unluckly the restoration job was done very bad :crying:

so about the pics I'm very glad to share with you, I have more than one thousand of it

thank you very much guys, I think if you have patience isn't difficult in a Mustang cause is just like a giant Piaggio Vespa :001_smile:

some facts of the previous pictures where you see the car on the wheels, all news: control arms, leaf springs, front springs, stainless steel brake lines, brake hoses, grommets, most nuts and bolts, control arms, steering box, wheel bearings, EBC rotors, drum brakes and related parts, urethane bushing, Currie 9" traction lock, 3.00 Motive Gear ring and pinion.

the power steering ram cylinder maybe is a rebuilt unit as rotor calipers, also I rebuilt the proportioning valve and power steering control valve, unlucky most of new parts has a low quality paint then I repaint it still with the epoxy primer and polyurethane paint.

anyway here other pics, the power steering pump that I bought as rebuilt year many years ago and I recently painted in a similar correct colors and the driveshaft rebalanced by a shop after my buddys sandblasting and finally painted

about the engine it was rebuilt by the previous owner with new pistons, Manley valves, new water pump, new oil pump and he also added a new edelbrock intake and new MSD distributor but he also give me the original intake and distributor. the bad is he painted with a poor spray can so I blocked all holes, I applied a paint remover and after I cleaned with high pressure water for several times and finally repaint as the other parts
