Daves69Coupe 10 Report post Posted September 12, 2011 Ill have to check again but from what I remember the tube where the dipstick goes has no bottom, it was an open whole from top to bottom. Ill check later and post a pic. The trans has been in the car so Ill have to get under it and check it out
jholmes217 65 Report post Posted September 12, 2011 Where is the hole to add fluid on a C4 transmission? If you don't have the original dipstick tube, be careful on the replacements as the full line might not be correct. I got a chrome one and it actually needs one additional quart after the full mark on the chrome one to be correct (I went by a count of quarts instead of what the dipstick said.) When you put it back in, make sure you put a quart in the torgue converter, then make sure your block has the dowel pins to line everything up (I made that couple hundred dollar mistake once of thinking that the bell housing bolts are all I needed.) Also, if you put an aftermarket external trans cooler on, ensure you add more fluid appropriately.
sixtyeight 10 Report post Posted September 17, 2011 What you have in the picture is a pan fill c4. You have no choice but to find a proper pan and dipstick. Jerry.
