stangme428 33 Report post Posted May 12, 2011 what is the difference between convertible rear seat upholstery and a coupe? I found some leather to match scat seats for a 68 convertible and was wondering if it can be made to fit my 69 coupe....
stangs-R-me 124 Report post Posted May 12, 2011 The seat bottom cushion is similar width at the back but gets much wider towards the door jams on the coupe. The seat back is the same basic width but the coupe's has a flattend horizontal area at the top where it meets the package tray. I know this from experience as I have '69 Shelby convertible Comfortweave uphostery in my car and I had to have both the back seat covers modified by a local upholstery shop to fit my coupe !! This was not a problem as I have a black interior ... would have been tricky matching if it were anything but black though. You are in the same boat ... if black, any uphostery shop should be able to modify the '68 CV covers to fit your '69 coupe. Doug
