Max Power 74 Report post Posted July 20, 2010 You can just get the chrome trim that was in the 69 glass and install it on the 70 glass. That's what I did.
paulb 112 Report post Posted July 21, 2010 thanks, thats what i heard as well, but is there any difference between the two? thanks
Max Power 74 Report post Posted July 21, 2010 Between the two what? The 70 windows didn't use a chrome strip from the factory. The rubber sealing part was on the quarter window in 1970.
02Lightning 10 Report post Posted July 21, 2010 Do you have a picture you can post so I can see the diffrent 1/4 windows? Because I have 70 bolt in glass and I put the chrome end on it. And I assume I have 69 1/4 windows.
RogerC 136 Report post Posted July 21, 2010 I believe the qtr windows are the identical on the 69 & 70 fastbacks. Been about 20 years since I had my 70 fastback.
02Lightning 10 Report post Posted July 21, 2010 So there is no diffrence between the 1/4 window and door window where they seal to each other then?
Max Power 74 Report post Posted July 22, 2010 The glass should be the same, the molding attached are different. The 70 models I believe had nothing attached to the door window, and the quarter windows had bigger moldings with a rubber strip for the door window to seal too. The 69 models had chrome strips attached to the door window and smaller trim pieces on the quarter windows. I am sure there are images out there in the internet. I know that to be true on the hardtops/verts but I was thinking fastbacks were the same between 69 & 70 due to the qtr glass pivoting at the B-pillar. ?? You might be right about that. I was comparing my 69 fastback to my 70 coupe. You can put 70 bolt in glass into your 69 fastback though. Just transfer all the chrome bits and you're good to go. buening 63 Report post Posted July 22, 2010 Indeed, AFAIK the 1/4 windows are the same for the fastbacks. My original fastback and mach both had the stainless trim on the back of the door glass with the weatherstripping. The 1/4 windows also have a stainless trim at the front that also house the pivots at the top and bottom.
