miked159 10 Report post Posted May 29, 2010 hey guys, I have a 351w Im putting in a 69 fastback. Im thinking of a ram air shaker hood set-up. My question is what intake/carbs am I limited to in order to have the same height/clearance for the shaker scoop? I plan on using standard motor mounts but I have yet to buy them so if i need drop mounts then I can still do that. Thanks in advance, Mike
BuckeyeDemon 211 Report post Posted May 29, 2010 the answer is highly dependent on the following: 1. how original do you want it to look? 2. how much effort do you want to apply? 3. what skills do you have? 4. is it ok to have the scoop stick through the hood with some odd height or angle? miked159 10 Report post Posted May 29, 2010 as far as 100% original Im not really looking for that. What I want is to use aftermarket intakes/carbs that will give me good power, but I also want the shaker scoop. I really dont want it at a funny angle too much, but if its slightly higher or lower than I wont care.
BuckeyeDemon 211 Report post Posted May 31, 2010 i think i've read a edelbrock torker or performer will fit with little to no effort and achieve an almost stock location. i think a Performer RPM will cause some hood issues with height. an Air Gap and Victor Jr. can be made to work with a lot of effort. i'm pretty sure if you search for this topic you will find similar threads.
