Len69Coupe 33 Report post Posted August 19, 2009 On my coupe the PO painted the quarter ornaments black and painted over the chrome strips. Now I would really like to strip the paint off the chrome and maybe eventually paint the ornaments back to the car body color. Anyone know what holds the quarter ornament on? Also, what holds the chrome strip to the ornament? Are the chrome strips pretty thin? I hate to damage them because they are way expensive:scared: Thanks. 69RestoRod 10 Report post Posted August 20, 2009 Six or seven studs hold the ornament on behind the rear window's window guide. You can get them off blind with a small 1/4" or 3/8" combo wrench. The chrome is not easily removed as it has studs that mount through the pot metal section and are then smashed flat to hold them in place. Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
