ITS ALIVE!!....but won't shut off

Turned on my 351W for the first time today woohooo!! Ill post a video here tomorrow. Now for bad news, car turns on normally and fine, however it does not shut off when I turn the key. What are some common wiring mistakes people have seen in the engine bay that will cause this. Ill pick up a new ignition switch soon and try that, but I think I have the car wired wrong. Let me know what you guys think.

What year is it? I had similar problem a few years back with my 1970 Mach and it was the ignition switch mounted on top of the steering column under the plastic cover. They are hard to find but I took mine out and cleaned it good with electronic tuner claner and it's worked fine ever since.

this is a common problem if you have the wires on the two small posts of the solenoid backwards, it will start fine but won't shut off because the ignition circuit is getting feedback from those wires

I had the same problem a couple of years ago with my '69 351W as well. It would start but I couldn't get it to shut off. If I remember correctly my starter solenoid went bad, after getting new one it worked just fine.

I had the same problem once, Bnickel had the right answer, try swapping those two post wires
