need to ID a bigblock please help

is there a site that i can go to to ID a engine? if not maybe someone here could help me out :helpsmilie:i just bought a big block yes its a ford the guy told me its either a 460 or a 429 he couldnt remeber which said it might even be a 428 (i dont think so) we both looked it over and the only numbers we could find on the whole block were B9VE-B are these the numbers i need? :helpsmilie:

Look at the intake manifold. If it extends out under the valve cover and the valve cover bolts to the intake, it is an FE series engine, 352, 390, 428 etc. If it has oval intake and exhaust ports, it could be a 429 or 460. The B9 casting number would generally mean 1959, and that would probably make it a 352. Post some pictures of it and maybe I can give you some more info.

ok i dont have an intake for it but the heads are wider then the FE style the valve cover bolts completely to the head i wont have it home till this weekend ill snap some pics then

the guy i got it from said an aluminum 460 intake bolted straight on it
