BuckeyeDemon 211 Report post Posted February 1, 2009 I posted this on another Mustang site, but thought I would add the same here. Made a custom set of subframe connectors. I'm trying to keep the car looking as stock as possible. I had an aftermarket set of subframe connectors originally installed, but they just didn't fit the theme. I thought these had the highest potential of looking period correct. I need something to stiffen up the car (500hp). However this was a major PITA. It's made from 11 gauge steel. The curvature of the pans made it very difficult. I had to remove some of the ribbing and relocate the drain holes. I still need to smooth a couple spots with a little duraglass. bnickel 10,004 Report post Posted February 1, 2009 those look very nice. i have seen similar ones for sale at mustang depot though. http://www.mustangdepot.com/OnLineCatalog/Suspension/subframe-connectors.htm scroll down to the spintech subframe connectors. they also extensions that go to the racker panels as well, kind of like a jacking rail i guess

Trinitys 134 Report post Posted February 9, 2009 Wow, I’m saving all your pictures so that if I ever go this far on another mustang, I’m going to use these as reference!
Pakrat 1,043 Report post Posted February 9, 2009 Nice fab work, looks like it could handle double the HP you'll throw at it. I remeber watching the guys on musclecar do something like this last year and it sure looked like a lot of work so I can just imagine.

I notice when I view this page with my phone, the pics are clear. When I use my laptop they are blurry? Have you tried different browsers or maybe your phone? bigmal 225 Report post Posted December 8, 2019 Maybe a dumb question, but how noticeable will the change be having installed connectors?

ray1970 88 Report post Posted January 3, 2020 I found the frame stiffeners almost night and day. But my car was a little rusty to start with and a 500 hp motor did not help that. Ray. 1 bigmal reacted to this
