power brake booster gaskets

Another brake ?. There was a thin foam like gasket between the firewall and the mounting bracket for the booster and another between the mounting bracket and the booster. These 2 foam gaskets disintegrated when removed and the new parts didn't come with them. The parts store was no help. They suggested making them. Do these thin foam gaskets need to be there and if so do I just make them out of some similar foam?

Just for your info; the firewall gasket is plain old fashion "rubber".

Most people just use an old bike inner rubber tube to use and cut-out what they need.

Probably are dust shields but would help with any squeeking or rattling on and off brake application over time.
