R4k, 69IN2006 - you guys going? Should be a good one! Heading over Saturday......

Food Lion AutoFair

Thursday, April 3 - Sunday, April 6, 2008

It is finally here!

Lowe's Motor Speedway's Food Lion AutoFair is the world's largest automotive extravaganza! The four-day event will include a car show featuring various makes and models from more than 50 clubs; more than 10,000 vendor spaces that offer a plethora of automotive parts and memorabilia; and a collector car auction conducted by Tom Mack. A car corral, which completely circles the 1.5-mile superspeedway, featuring nearly 1,500 vehicles of all makes and models that are available for sale or trade.

The 3M Car Care Garage will feature a Mean vs. Green theme, displaying radical, high-horsepower machines shown alongside several environmentally friendly vehicles. The mean machines will be highlighted by six massive creations from the Blastolene Brothers, including a 1928 Studebaker President powered by an 1,800-horsepower tank engine.

Also for the first time, Food Lion AutoFair will include an Antique Automobile Club of America National Meet. More than 600 of the nation's most beautiful classic cars will be on display as part of this "show within a show" on Saturday, April 5. AACA National Meets attract the cream of the crop from across the country, allowing the public rare access to many of the most magnificent automobiles ever built.

Three years ago there were more Mustangs than Camaro's or Chevelle's - not this year. Walking the track I counted maybe 6-8 69/70 Mustangs and lost count on how many Camaro's and Chevelle's. Still at the same time I did not see ANY 69/70 on the track itself for under $25k. Of the 6+, three were 302 tributes. Will they sell - I hope so as it only brings further value to us all.......

Not a good day - rained all day from a drizzle in the AM to a soaking in the PM.... Never made the ground tour as it was a mud bath!
