What other muscle cars would you secretly like to own?

Recommended Posts

First off I love Fords and I hope I don't get alot of slack:gun_bandana: :helpsmilie: for posting this on a '69 Mustang forum but I thought it may be interesting. It's no secret that '69 Stang's are my all time favorite, but I also like muscle cars in general. Some of you may own other makes and models and that's cool (post some pics if you do) but I have always been into Fords and don't plan on ever owning anything else. However:whistling: ...... there is one Mopar I would own if I ever hit the lottery and It's a '70 AAR Cuda 340 6 pack. I love the hood and side exhaust and overall they just look killer to me. For those who may not know they are Mopar's version of the Trans Am street car ( Ford had the Boss 302 and GM the Z28). So be brave and step up with one of your brand X favorites. It's just a "what if" question and you won't be seen as a traitor ( not by me anyways).

I agree with you it have to be a cuda or if i was picking a car from this time period i'd go with the new corvette ZR1. I'm generally not a fan of chevy products but the vette is an exception.

620 hp and 600ft pounds of torque......

Not that i could handle that much power.

If you don't like the Cuda there's something wrong you. They are a bitchin' muscle car from the era. 1st Gen Z/28's are right there also. Wouldn't trade my BOSS 302 for either, but I really like them too.

I did however just buy this, had one back in the `70's as a member of West Coast Vans. Really looking forward to restoring it and trickin' it out. I love the look of these Early Vans.

Nothing secret about what I would drive if I had the $$$$

- 67 Vette convertible - string ray hood with 427/435hp

- 59 Impala convertible - love those tail lights and rear deck wings

- 55 Chevy Belair - the perfect Pro-street / tubbed and blown

- 68 GT500KR convertible - the "real' king of the road

- 69 Shelby GT500 convertible - my favorite year GT500

- 66 Chevy II Nova - baddest boxy car out there

- 67 Chevelle - the only She-velle I like

- 64 GT40 - THE lemans car

- 70 Cuda - love the body / hate the interior

I would not be caught dead in a new vette..... so for a new car I'll wait for the Challenger or take an '08 Carrera 911.

I once owned a '69 and a '71 Firebird. Both 350 Auto. Wouldn't really call 'em Muscle Cars but I would love to have either one now.

Forgot about the FireChickens.... Love them. There is an electrican working in my building who has a seafoam green paint / white convertible top 69 with a 455. Very nice car.

I like the pontiac front end much better than that of the same period Crapmaro.

I have my dream car - an 05 Ford GT. Just love the gal- what a beast!

After the mustang project if I do another car I'll be looking for either a 68 Charger RT of a 75 Trans Am 455 4 spd....

BTW Scott - Galaxie is looking good. I'm getting the Mach 1 back from the sshop and will be starting on the engine next month. I'll PM ya to find who checked your block locally on the 390 in your old red car.

yep Mad you have the ultimate new hot rod. I drove a 05 GT and I was WET! The pickup, the feel of the road, the shifting, the looks, the "my ass is on the ground" feeling - all were so cool. I also love it's dad the original GT40.

A 05 GT or a original GT 40 would be a couple of good ones for sure . There is a guy who lives about 25 miles from me and he has a original (not a kit car) 289 Cobra he's had scince new. He built a room around it off the side of his house and the Cobra sets inside cozy and warm. I know it would never hapen but I always wanted a Cobra or a kit car would do with a 5.0.

I'd love another 72 Gran Torino Sport, either 351 or 429.

Also:

a GT40 or replica

early 70s Javelin

76 Chevelle, just a good looking car

69 Boss 302

Mustang II fastback with a warm 302

71 -74 Charger

i almost bought one in high school, it was a red 72 Q-code gran torino sport with a 4 spd and some like 11" slot mags out back with some N-50-15's and and the front ones were probably 5" wide with some 195-15's like what you'd find on a VW. pretty cool car, had a 750 holley and an old e'brock torker intake, the original one where the carb mounted kinda diagonally on the intake. i just didn't have the $600 to drag it off the guys lot. :scared:

I loved my 72 GTS. Mine had a 351C 2V and C6. I picked up a 429SCJ and 4 speed from a 70 torino cobra. I tore it down and was storing it in my parents barn while I was in the military. I came home to build it a few years later and found it had become a rat condo. Totally trashed, they chewed on evrything. I'm keeping my eye out for another.
