Lock that hood!

What's the best way to secure the hood on a classic car in these modern times?

 

I know a lot of us have hood pins, but, is there some other way? Could you use a 'pull/lock' switch from a more modern car?

Look on DarkBuddha's site, under JYE (Junk Yard Engineering)...he has a bolt-on cable-release hood lock project under there.
