seat belt question

The shoulder belts on my 69 have velcro & a strap on them. How do the belts hang? IF I put the velcro together, they bang off the window. Any ideas?

Hunh? I ain't never heard of such a thing? Obviously aftermarket as I don't believe velcro came about until the late 70's.

Do you still have the Rubber sleeve for the plate to slide into? Or is the belt just hanging from the velco.

mine hang from an elastic, strap a very worn out elastic strap.

The previous owner of my car did the same thing. They put velcro to keep the two parts of the belts together. My plate is tucked in to the rubber sleeve from the factory(so it dosen't hang down to low). The velcro helps to keep them together. I think the velcro was the thing to do in the 80's. I'd go to a fabric shop and get some new velcro and elastic material to tighten up the belts.

sorry I didnt get back sooner. It has the elastic straps, but no rubber sleeves. thanks for the replys, i will post a pic so ya all know what Im talking about.

OK IM AN IDIOT, I see the clip slides into the rubber sleeves, but where does the elastic strap go to?

There should be a hook on the front part of the ceiling on both sides. It looks just like the one in the rear that you hang clothes hangers from. If you don't have one on each side, I believe they sell them after market
