Neutral Safety switch

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

I have a 69FB with a 429 and a C6. My problem is the neutral safety switch. The car originally had a 390 w/Toploader, when the last owner put in the tranny, he didn't have any neutral safety switch installed. Now that I'm about ready to put it on the road, I'm stuck. The stock switch is a half-roudn piece that supposedly mounts to the side of the tranny where the linkage attaches, but there is no way this can mount on my tranny (there are NO mounting holes for it). I looked at attaching it to the linkage under the console, but there's really no way to mount it there either.

Does anyone know if a) a FMX switch is a long flat switch which mounts on TOP of the console shifter assembly (but underneath the shift selector)? If it does, this may work for me. If anyone has a pic of the FMX switch that would be extremely helpful, then I would be able to see if it may work for me and

b) if there is some other way to mount the stock C6 neutral safety switch to the tranny?
