smh00n 94 Report post Posted April 7 Men I need new gauges for my ride. whats the better choice? Looking at black with white needles. Has someone made an adaptor plug from the factory harness plug to either brand control module/cluster?

Its a very specific plug just used to mate to the flex circuit. That would be a weird critter. 1 det0326 reacted to this

Anyway, Dakota is a good choice.
smh00n 94 Report post Posted April 9 Dakota just ordered. looks like I might have to hack the harness unless I can find something that can adapt. 1 Mach1 Driver reacted to this
70Boss351 5 Report post Posted May 7 Dakota Digital gauges are a great way to go. They are working great in my '70. Not too difficult to install but you will need to cut the sender wires that went to your old gauges. The DD gauges use their "black box" that take all of your sender input wires individually and then there is a cable out that plugs into the back of the gauges. Maybe, theoretically, you could cut up the old gauges housing to scavenge the connector and cobble some sort of adaptor together but...WHY? Just save the old cut-off wires/connector to splice back in if someone in the future wanted to restore the dash (but most likely, by that time, they'd probably just install a new repro wiring harness). I only have one of their tachometers hooked on my steering column the rest are the originals but my Ammeter is converted to voltage. The tach is a little noisy when it first winds up but is fine afterwards.
