Her69fastback 6 Report post Posted February 26 What’s the best way to fill this seam? I have been looking at lead. I have seen other stuff out there. Is there anything that’s the best for this? If lead is the best where should I get it from?
det0326 198 Report post Posted February 26 Nothing wrong with lead if you are experienced with it because it is very easy to warp the surrounding area of the roof. Most people now are welding a piece of sheet metal over it and then body filler over the weld patch. 2 RPM and Grabber70Mach reacted to this
Her69fastback 6 Report post Posted February 26 I have never used lead. I was thinking about welding in a patch panel. Some are saying there will be a gap for rust

Apply body filler and sand finish like any other patch panel. The only way moisture could get under it is if the filler cracks but if done correctly that is highly unlikely. 2 RPM and Grabber70Mach reacted to this
TexasEd 211 Report post Posted March 5 My body shop used All Metal filler. It's like a putty but with a metallic texture and is close to lead. 1 SWPruett reacted to this
