Hand held planishing tool .

Recommended Posts

Went by harbor freight ,they had them in stock for $19  so I bought two at that price ,now you can see Bonnie in the bottom of the Pic and I think she is skeptical but what does she know she's just a dog !

Little sucker pounds a 16 penny nail in like it was nothing so I believe it will need a air valve to adjust the pressure . I guess the first step will be to make the hammer and a keeper to keep it in the nailer https://ibb.co/4wyCPVVt

A valve will work but I need to temper the stem ,also have to figure out how to keep it in the tool . I was thinking set screw but the cone is stainless steel and I can't find a bit to drill through it ,then I would have to tap it for the set screw. .you do need a air regulator because you need to turn it down quite a bit . If I can figure a way to keep the valve in the tool I can try it on a panel ,I have just tried it on wood  so far .20250209-135635.jpg
