69 parking brake warning light pigtail connection

Recommended Posts

It isn't shown on the Mustang drawing, but is on the Cougar. I don't think it is on the flex circuit for the Stang. Aslanefe has made the switches in the past and should know how to wire it. It may require a socket or something. The switch provides the ground, and it goes to the light, the other side of which goes to a keyed positive source. You can wait for him to show up, or send him a private message.

Not sure how they were originally wired, but I connect them to brake master cylinder switch wire in parallel on the inside of the firewall. If the master cylinder goes bad or if the parking brake is engaged, the "Brake" light in instrument cluster comes on.

Thanks but I'm referring to the wiring harness for parking brake warning light that is located bottom right of the dash between the ignition and wiper switch.  One wire connects to the parking brake switch. The other wire has a short bullet connector.

There is an auxiliary post on the fuse block that accepts a yellow pigtail, about 6" long. This is what the brake light bullet connector plugs into for power. Most Mustangs did not need the aux power and did not receive the yellow pigtail, so you'll have to source one or improvise.

I thought I had pictures but I can't find any, I'll see if I can dig anything up.

West Coast Classic Cougar sells what you are looking for. If the link below doesn't work, the assembly is called "Fuse Block Accessory Wire and Bus Bar" There is also a switch on the e-brake pedal that I assume you already have.
