Jack Wheeler 0 Report post Posted January 16 Is there a trick to installing the side moldings on a '69 Mach 1? These are the trim pieces that are mounted vertically at each side of the grille opening. I can get to the back of the lower stud to mount the nut, However, I can't figure how to get to the back side of the top 2 studs to get the nuts started. Any suggestions? Thanks. TexasEd 199 Report post Posted January 16 Are you talking about the C shaped ones on the headlight buckets/fender extensions? You get to them from the back side. Check this thread. https://1969stang.com/forum/index.php?/topic/219903-finish-and-installing-front-headlamp-trim/
jmlay 84 Report post Posted January 17 I believe he is referring to the wide moldings that are “inside” the grill opening. Assuming this is correct there is a push in plastic retainer for the top hole, at least that is how mine were mounted.
