3M™ Channel Bonding 08641 vs 3M Windo-Weld 08609

I’ve read many threads on 69 side window installs. Some great tips and tricks but I’m a bit unclear which glue to use. 
 

Some say 3M™ Channel Bonding and Sidelite Adhesive 08641 while others say use urethane like 3M™ Windo-Weld Super Fast Urethane, 08609. 
 

Are both a good choice?

I used 3M urethane with great results. Seven years and the windows are still tight on a convertible where they go up and down constantly.

Per WCCC recommendation I used the 3M 08641 two part epoxy circa 2016. It's survived many unintended power winder bottom outs.

I'll just point out that using the tube without the applicator is just a pain in the ass.

In the WCCC Don shows how you can use a regular ratcheting caulk gun to apply the 2 part epoxy. If I can do it, anyone can.

Did the same with reg caulk gun, no issues

I tried it with two tubes using dowels once and bolts another time.  Both of them blew out sideways.

I used two deep sockets. Maybe cuz it was 100° in the shop helped soften the epoxy.

Everything worked great and it was so much easier than using a caulking gun with various items installed to try to make it work.  Yes, I tried it and it was a disaster.

No, as they will not fit.  I had to return those and I got these instead, which worked perfect.  The issue was the connector as it is not a screw on if you get the  3M Channel Bonding and Sidelite Adhesive, 08641, 47.3 mL Cartridge.

Important FYI:  One thing to remember when gluing in the glass.  Once you put the mixed bonding agent on the glass you have two minutes or less to position and set the window as this stuff dries really fast.  Ask me how I know.
