Uncle Buck 0 Report post Posted October 10, 2022 I’ve read many threads on 69 side window installs. Some great tips and tricks but I’m a bit unclear which glue to use. Some say 3M™ Channel Bonding and Sidelite Adhesive 08641 while others say use urethane like 3M™ Windo-Weld Super Fast Urethane, 08609. Are both a good choice? 69RavenConv 283 Report post Posted October 11, 2022 I used 3M urethane with great results. Seven years and the windows are still tight on a convertible where they go up and down constantly.
RPM 1,143 Report post Posted October 11, 2022 Per WCCC recommendation I used the 3M 08641 two part epoxy circa 2016. It's survived many unintended power winder bottom outs.
TexasEd 166 Report post Posted October 13, 2022 I'll just point out that using the tube without the applicator is just a pain in the ass.

In the WCCC Don shows how you can use a regular ratcheting caulk gun to apply the 2 part epoxy. If I can do it, anyone can.

Both of them blew out sideways.
RPM 1,143 Report post Posted October 20, 2022 I used two deep sockets. Maybe cuz it was 100° in the shop helped soften the epoxy.
GearHeadPeter 2 Report post Posted November 19, 2022 When I glued in my windows on my 69 vert I used 3M Channel Bonding and Sidelite Adhesive, 08641, 47.3 mL Cartridge with the Dispenser Gun, 50ml Dispensing Gun Kit Impression Mixing Dispensing Dispenser AB Gun 1:1/1:2 that I got on Amazon for $22. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07JMXTBW6/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Everything worked great and it was so much easier than using a caulking gun with various items installed to try to make it work. Yes, I tried it and it was a disaster. 1 Mach1 Driver reacted to this

GearHeadPeter 2 Report post Posted November 19, 2022 No, as they will not fit. I had to return those and I got these instead, which worked perfect. The issue was the connector as it is not a screw on if you get the 3M Channel Bonding and Sidelite Adhesive, 08641, 47.3 mL Cartridge. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08JV19231/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 QWORK 20Pcs Static Mixing Nozzle Tip, Mixing Epoxy Adhesive Applicator Nozzle,Mixer Plastic Resin Mixing Tip for AB Gun 50ml/1.7oz(1:1/1:2Ratio) 1 Mach1 Driver reacted to this
GearHeadPeter 2 Report post Posted November 22, 2022 Important FYI: One thing to remember when gluing in the glass. Once you put the mixed bonding agent on the glass you have two minutes or less to position and set the window as this stuff dries really fast. Ask me how I know.
