69-70 coupe driprail question

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

Wondering how you would remove the drip rail (not the molding) on the 69-70 coupe?

Are they riveted, screwed on or welded onto the body?

has anyone every removed/reinstalled them? whats the best way to tackle it?

As RR said above plus; it requires cutting & welding a little at a time as you go along. I've done the left side on my car so far. Also requires cleaning out the lead at the factory seams between the roof & the A & C pillars so those areas can be welded shut. Takes a lot of patience.

Thanks all, My moldings never sat right on the drip rail because the drip rail has overspray from the body shop, I wanted to see if it was an easy fix just to remove them and clean them up. Guess thats a no.. lol

@RogerC can you provide photos on your process, I just want to document it in case I ever decide to remove them later on, much appreciated.
