bolt/hardware list

Recommended Posts

Is there a readily available list of all the bolts/hardware needed to assembly a 69? I end up spending more time trying to find bolts that fit stuff than I do actually getting work done. For instance right now I need the 4 bolts to bolt the steering column to the firewall and the ones to mount a brake master cylinder to firewall.

Probably the only list that tells you what and where for just our cars is in an AMK master kit. A couple of books may suffice: the 69 Part and Body Illustrations (Forel Publishing) often gives a part number, and the Ford Standard and Utility Parts Catalog (Jim Osborn) has an index in the back that lists fastener part numbers with page references, but it can take some page turning and head scratching. The usual Mustang retailers sell them.

If someone has an AMK Master fastener list and ya wanta help the rest of us out, I know it would be appreciated.

Thanks Mach1, I do have the Osborn manuals but like you mention they just have part numbers which don't help me much. I know AMK sells a Ford guide to fasteners that probably has the information I need but was hoping there was already a publicly available list for just the 69. I mean it's only been 50+ years I bet someone has made a list in that time.

Actually, the Concours Mustang Forum lists all the original hardware specs and platings obtained from various sources.  AMK does a good job for the hobbyist, but if you're interested din which head marking and color is correct, the spreadsheets in that forum is the place to go.  You may have to be a member to get to the spreadsheet;:

I hadn't been on Concours Mustang until Midlife mentioned it above. Here is a link to the 69/70 fastener spreadsheet, but I suspect you'll have to register to download. There are two Excel files, which are a little over 2700 rows. They are the some file, just sorted by "Location Application" for AP06 and the other is sorted by "Ford Part Number" and is PN06. I find it easiest to use Excel's "Find and Select" feature.

this probably won't help, but I managed to get 90% of this kit for dirt cheap at a swap meet (actually, the kit I have has interior parts too):

Someone only wanted a few of the baggies out of it, so I picked it up for beans.  I've barely used it, but when I have, it's been priceless.  Sorry not helpful but just keep an eye out on ebay or craigslist!
