dbmac 20 Report post Posted January 7 What have you all done for trunk carpet? Has anyone tried a carpet kit like the ones from ACC: https://www.accmats.com/commerce/1969/Ford/Mustang/Trunk Mat/17245/ They mention "boards" but not exactly sure where that is - over the tank or over the side drop offs. Debating whether to do this or do my own with MDF. I want to be fully carpeted, clean and neat. These kits look a little piecemeal. Thanks, Dave
Caseyrhe 643 Report post Posted January 8 For that price, I would think a sheet of mdf, sealed of course, and carpet would be more reasonable allowing you to customize it as you go. Card board could be used to make templates. Would like to see how it turns out
RPM 1,030 Report post Posted January 8 Not sure if I'd do it again.
dbmac 20 Report post Posted January 8 Yeah @Caseyrhe, that price is a bit much, must be "list" since I now see it for about half that elsewhere. @RPM, that is more of the look I was going for - clean and neat. Very nice. Why wouldn't you do it again?
RPM 1,030 Report post Posted January 9 Because it's a lot of work, and I'm lazy. True story. 2 1 Midlife, Caseyrhe and rwcstang reacted to this
Vicfreg 587 Report post Posted January 16 I have one in my '68, not too bad. Mustangs to Fear has one for '68, I understand it can be modified for the later cars. I also did it the hard way..... 1 SWPruett reacted to this
SWPruett 67 Report post Posted January 16 Vicfreg, That's some top-shelf work! Did you make the floor "floating" with the rest of the structures attached to it? Also, what is the source of that nifty amp cover lid you used? Neat stuff!
Vicfreg 587 Report post Posted January 16 The floor is screwed down to oak cross members. The amp cover is sourced from a Marine supplier, it is a hatch used on boats. 2 SWPruett and TexasEd reacted to this
