Vicfreg 771 Report post Posted September 12, 2021 Any ideas/suggestions/lessons learned about mounting the tack strips in the back of the "well". I have new hardware, and the holes in the car are inconsistent in size, and/or could be stripped. Before I start drilling and put some RivNuts in, wanted some ideas. Here are the holes I am talking about
Kris 90 Report post Posted September 12, 2021 All the holes should be the same size and thread pattern. The only difference is there are a few bolts that are shorter than the rest. I believe there are 4 of those and if I remember correctly those go along the 1/4 panel sides. I would try running a tap through the holes before I drilled them out. There’s probably dirt and rust in the threads not allowing you to get the bolts in.
Vicfreg 771 Report post Posted September 12, 2021 Hey Kris. Thanks for the reply, some of the bolts appear to be too small, and some appear to be too big. I guess I need to figure out what size they’re supposed to be, and then I can work on a solution. I did have a bolt kit for these that I got somewhere, I’m gonna do some research and make sure I gave the right hardware, thanks a lot, I’ll let you know how it works out
