  1. Hi! My name is Kaitlyn and I bought a roller 1969 mustang back in march and I'm working on restoring it. I of course have a million questions and often times find myself feeling completely lost lol but i'm trying to take it one step at a time since its such a big project and I know it will end up being more expensive than i'm expecting. I'm sending it in next week to have some chassis work done (new floor pans, fixing some holes in the wheel wells, sandblasting, epoxy, etc.) because I felt like all of that should be done by a professional! My question for now is what's next, I feel like this is the first big thing I've done for the car, other than cleaning it out when I first got it and doing research as much as possible. Im sure there isn't an exact process but I just don't know exactly what direction I should go in after this, do I do electrical, brakes, interior? I know when it's time I want to put the 351 W in the car and I've been looking at the T5 transmission (5 speed manual trans, fairly sure it was common in the foxbody mustangs) Those are my basic questions for now, I've definitely got a lot to learn in this process but I'm excited to learn and watch the transformation of the car, it's crazy to think I have my dream car! I would love any advice anyone has!

  3. Am I the only one who really prefers the look of the 69 coupe over the fastback? Fastbacks get all the attention and all the love and all the money... but man... they're ugggggly. Am I literally the only person on the planet who thinks this way?
  4. Hello, I have a 1969 mustang fastback that I built from the ground up and was finished about a year ago and there has always been this constant spark knock. I have messed with the timing in all different ways and it is currently at 6 degrees atdc. recently got a pertronix distributor put in. Today I changed the spark plugs and put in autolite copper plugs and new spark plug wires in and changed the coolant and also changed the oil and oil filter in hopes that something would change but of course it didnt. before the timing was at 10 degrees and that was terrible and its better at 6 but its definitely still there. im checking tomorrow for an exhaust leak but i doubt thats what it is because the knocking changes when the timing is changed. Any advice will be greatly appreciated I only have so much knowledge about this.

I live in Madisonville, LA. I also have a lot of parts that I am selling separately. I will be listing those here as well. Thanks for looking!
  6. Hi guys, I have to replace the roof skin on my fastback. Would anyone out there have any experience with this? I have seen vids of skins on racing cars being glued on with modern adhesives and welded on each corner. Heat caused the problem, so I am worried about plug welding the the new skin onto the car.
  7. Hey dudes-- I scored this mustang fastback on ebay for $700! It has a key on column and vents in door jam by the quarter panel--which I am told are signs of a '70 fastback. What is telling is the stripe on the rear quarter's original paint. It appears to have the grabber stripe. Of course, the VIN plates are long gone, as are the doors. But there is an original 2 barrel 302 intake that comes with the car, perhaps another sign. Again, it is missing VINS doors, & door tags... but given the original paint and stripe on on the rear quarter, it seems to me to be one of two things, a '70 grabber or less likely a boss. DISCUSS PLEASE:helpsmilie: At any rate, after some serious work...my '69 coupe is getting a new scalp!!!
