Thanks Sven, I'm reading your blog, and there's a lot of helpful stuff in there. Hope to see you up in the saddle soon too.

I had both my instrument panels restored by the Tachman. They look new, mint. My instrument bezel was cracked badly, he tried to repair it, but wasn't happy with the result, so he gave me a new one free of charge. I haven't installed and tested then yet, but I'll recommend him. I understand that 1969_Mach1 had a bad experience, but if the dude did bad work, he wouldn't be in business by now. He's living off his internet reputation. I mailed him and then later called him and discussed what I wanted done. Seemed like a nice guy to me.

Dammit G, I feel your pain. No fun having other people ruin your car. Hope insurance works out. It's not like they can take the car from you, it's still your car. My car was totaled, I kept the car and got some cash out. If it said anywhere on the insurance papers that they own the car in the event of an crash, they wouldn't sell much. You have the final word.

Never had any problems with it. I've driven the car on 100 mile vactions without ever offering it a thought. Also, this is me, taking it up a serpentine mountain road here in Norway. No sweat. I also got the TCP power rack.

fvike got a reaction from Ronaldbaf in Remote mirror disassembly
I want to sandblast all the cast parts on my car, the scoops, quarter panel extensions and mirrors. However, I can't figure out how do remove the remote adjustment machanizm from my drivers side mirror housing. The wires seem to be fused to the mirror itself. Same at the joystick. Anyone know how to dissasemble, and then assemble it again?
