fvike got a reaction from TexasEd in Carpet Install
Do not cut the carpet at the door sills. Give it some time, and let it settle before you trim.

fvike reacted to RPM in Ran Into Another Mustang Er
Well, not into a car, but into Texas Ed at the Mustang Steve Bash in New Braunfels Texas on Saturday. What a great guy he is. Wish it was earlier in the day instead of as I went to my car to leave, but we had a great chat.

fvike reacted to Vicfreg in Attaching the chrome strip to the front of the Bonnet
The orange body book shows item number "B" as D0ZB168746 which is a "Type 8" moulding retainer. That is shown on page 248 of the AMK fastener book.
Item "C" is show in the body book as part number 384102 S100, which is a hex acorn nut, shown on page 214 of the AMK fastener book.

fvike reacted to RPM in What are these?
To me they look like alignment dowels between the rear block and tranny. What size do they measure?

Pretty sure that is the clip for the brake pedal shaft.

To me, that clip looks like the one that holds the brake pedal shaft in place.

fvike got a reaction from Mach1 Driver in Hydroboost Braking
I have the Hydratech unit, love it. Hydratechbraking has the most fantastic customer service I have ever experienced.
I haven't run a cooler before, but I am going to run one in the future. I've not had any problems with foaming, but the PS fluid has been very hot. I run the Hydraboost in combination with a TCP power rack and the KRC pump with an external tank.

fvike reacted to Midlife in Money for the real McCoy or kit car?!?!
You'd be better off buying the best completed car you can find given you don't have the tools/equipment to do a full restoration. Let someone else eat the costs of restoration that almost always is never recovered when the car is sold.
The amount of funds you'll be spending to outfit a dynacorn chassis will be north of $20k. Even so, it will not be a genuine Ford product that's 50+ years old. A good refurbished fastback can be found (with time...) for less than the cost of the new chassis and outfitting.

You can get serpentine pulleys for your pump at KRCpower.com
I don't think you'll find a better pump than the KRC unit. Stay with it. You can change flow valves on it to tune it to your liking too. I did change mine.
I have a full KRC setup, and it's very clean. After this picture was taken, I have changed the WP pulley from a 6rib/6rib to a 6rib/3rib.

Back working on my console, found some auto meter gauges with silver faces, used blue LEDs, so it will match my VHX Dash
Installed power trunk release button inside the console box

My first stage was front lowered EIBACH springs, shocks & fatter sway bars
rear EIBACH shocks & fat sway bar.
I also added AMERICAN RACING “Halibrands” wrapped in fat modern MICHELINS. She has front BAER brakes too.
I have race cars so I just want a comfortable cruiser.
inside I added Bluetooth, new speakers, NARDI steering wheel, and CORBEAU seats w custom upholstery and JEGS 4 point harness bcus the original upper harness is ridiculous to wear

Still working on my punchlist. Installed main door handle actuator rod. Got the "anti-rattle" sleeve from NPD, good fit and finish. Also got some of those old "red" clips that hold the actuator rods to the door handle and latch mechanism. Took picture from the top looking down inside the door, as a reminder to run the main rod with the bow toward the inside door skin. This will avoid contact with the window regulator arms.
Also, don't forget to slide the main door handle actuator rod retaining clip on the rod. This keeps it away from the widow mechanism. It has an orientation tab and threaded insert, and is attached from the passenger compartment side of the door.

Do not cut it flush! Keep it long, and trim it next year if you can. Use a steamer to form the carpet.

What the F... Progress??
First time powering up the AAW harness. Got head lights, tail lights, horn, heater fan, radio, interior lights and voltmeter working. Hazards only work with parking lights, so there is some gremlins yet. I have a lot of grounds to go over. But it's huge for me to finally be able to power up stuff. It's been over a year since the last update, and I have been doing stuff, but I never did feel it was enough to make a post about. Still there is work to be done on the harness, but a big step was made today.

fvike reacted to staffy in 69 Restomod (UK)
Well I’m pleased to say that the car came back to me 2 weeks ago from the paint shop.
I’m so pleased with it, the paint finish from the shop is just sublime.
Now for the hard work of putting it call back together.
