There is no real answer to how many rpm at 70. In my opinion you need to determine at what rpm you engine is comfortable cruising without lugging in high gear. Use that as a guide.

You replied on vmf indicating you would look too to see what you had. I posted this request on a couple of forums in order to get the most exposure. I appreciate you taking the time. I must have been half asleep as I posted this in the cars not parts wanted section…

I am interested in the 3 clips in the first image. Let me know how much you want for them and how you would like funds sent.

    Thanks again,
    Mike

Still seems high to me at $7500, with drivetrain. But I may be out of touch on the post Covid prices.

That car is pretty rough from the pictures. I would def go look at it before working any deal. I think your going to find it is worse than the pictures, they really don’t show much.
My car was a solid car to start with. I did not need to get into the structure to repair rust. However, it had previous crash damage that took a bit of work. Fortunately I purchased for a great price long before skyrocketing prices in the last few years. It is out of paint now and I’m going to have quite a bit of $ and effort in it before I’m driving. All this to say you should buy the best car you can find, period. You will thank yourself later!

Thanks.  I did take a look.  The pedal support is a 70 and the clutch pedal is a 70.  Can't see the date on the brake pedal but will guess it's a 70 as well?  So, close, but not what I am looking for.  Thanks again.  Brian

I would not paint the inside. It does need the rust removed. A product like evaporust, soak in cleaning vinegar, or electrolysis to name a few work to remove rust.

    Ed,
We discussed this in another post. The factory housing is 54.25” flange to flange. The overall width axle to axle flange is 59.25”. The axles stick out 2.25” on each side.:

I had assumed those holes were pre drilled. Since I made this thread I’ve poked around the internet a little and found a handful of decent photos. I think for what I’m doing the exact location will not be critical.

@jmlay thank you for the link. The pics on the site were excellent, plus I needed that plug kit anyway. Even cooler for me was that Dead Nuts On relocated to PA so shipping to me in VA was very fast.
Another member of this forum @buening posted this pretty good pic a while back that showed up in a search.

I do not believe three is an exact placement. The pictures int he link below are very clear & should give an idea of the location.

In general I agree with the full weight of the vehicle on the suspension is a good idea. However, if the car is solid and the panel gaps are to your satisfaction without the engine and trans I would not be afraid of installing without engine and trans.

There are a couple of different sizes of 90* connectors: you want one that fits a #10 bolt.  I found a source for them, and relayed that information to NPD.  Since then, they contacted AMP who makes most of the aftermarket wiring harnesses, and ordered a bunch of 90* connectors with wire pigtails.  The part number is:  14489-12A
