  12. for all you guys who are running with the shaker setup, what intake and carb do you have? Im asking b/c I want a shaker and I want to know my options when it comes to intakes and carbs. I have a 351w btw. Thanks guys
  13. first off awesome video dude. Im thinking of putting a shaker on my stang and I dont know what intake/carb combo to use in order to still be able to use the shaker. What kind of setup do you have that makes it too high? Thanks, Mike
  14. as far as 100% original Im not really looking for that. What I want is to use aftermarket intakes/carbs that will give me good power, but I also want the shaker scoop. I really dont want it at a funny angle too much, but if its slightly higher or lower than I wont care.
  15. hey guys, I have a 351w Im putting in a 69 fastback. Im thinking of a ram air shaker hood set-up. My question is what intake/carbs am I limited to in order to have the same height/clearance for the shaker scoop? I plan on using standard motor mounts but I have yet to buy them so if i need drop mounts then I can still do that. Thanks in advance, Mike
  16. awesome pic ya that explains how to set up the rear band, can you post the front band as well...also I think I might have to replace the rear band, but I've looked everywhere for a site that sell it, any advice? thx
  17. Hey guys, First off great site been reading for almost 2 years now. I'm rebuilding a FMX transmission, but I'm having problems putting the band struts on. I thought I took good pics of how the struts go, but turns out I cant tell which part goes where. Has anyone ever rebuilt a FMX or knows where I can get pics or advice? Let me know if you need more info or pics...
  18. Yes I am interested. Im located in Mississippi. If you can send some pics I'd appreciate it. Thanks, Mike
  19. On a side note, are you interested in selling your C4? If so what condition is it in, what year, etc? And may I please have some pics. If not then good luck on ur swap. Take care, Mike
  20. hey guys, thanks to all who replied. Im gona go ahead and go for it, I wana look down the road a couple years from now and say "ya I brought that beauty back to life with my bare hands". Ill be sure to take that welding course and read lots of books though. Also Sidthing, Im in the navy stationed in Mississippi. Right now Im downrange in Iraq, cant wait 2 get home and start working on this baby. And flight96, sweet thread bro, appreciate the link. Again, thanks guys, Ill be sure to post progress on the Project Forums.
  21. More pics...BTW im deployed right now, so Im just trying to see whats more cost effective for me to do when I get back. On a side note, Im not reluctant to do the job myself (actually I prefer to) I just want some advice before I start purchasing the welder and tools. Thanks in advance.
  22. hey all, first off great site Im a big fan. My dilema is this: Im considering taking my mustang to a body shop to do the body work, but i tried to get some estimates and all they tell me is $1500-2000 for stripping the car and then we'll see from there (car is a rolling shell, and I dont have the money to rent a trailer and haul it around to diff shops just for estimates). The parts that need repairing dont look too bad so Im considering just buying a welder (thanks for every1 who answered my previous thread) and just doing it myself at my own pace. Im a fast learner, I just need some advice from guys who've been there and done it. Here are some of the pics of the 69 stang. Maybe someone can give me a rough estimate on how much a shop will charge me for this (not including parts, of course).
  23. thanks for all who replied. Im looking to also weld some patches on the front frame rails. From what I gather Im prolly better off with a 220v mig welder. Since it cant run off american outlets, only question is how do i power it? do i have to get a generator or something?
  24. hey guys, i need help choosing a welder. Im a noob when it comes to welding, so I plan on teaching myself with books and dvd, etc. I just don't know what kind of welder to purchase. From what I gather on the net, it seems that the 140Amp range might be what Im looking for. Im just going to weld some pieces of the frame rails and just the front panels of the driver and passenger floors. And also the usual spots like inner wheelhouse and quarterpanel behind the wheel. The welders Im been looking at are the lincoln 140 and the millermatic 140. They both can weld from 24gauge to 10 gauge metal. The lincoln goes for 399 while the millermatic starts at 800. I know you get what you pay for, but Im worried about buying something thats way beyond the need of auto repair. Also Im not biased toward these two, if theres a better one out there please let me know. Any suggestions? P.S. Theres this welding set Ive seen on this website, please tell me if its a good deal or not. http://store.weldingdepot.com/cgi/weldingdepot/K2787-1A.html Thanks in advance
  25. hey midnight, if you still got those rear ends please email some pics to me, i sent you a private message with my email. thanks
