I had both the main dash and the driver side panels finished and painted in  body color. I just put it together.
I have the VHX silver face gauges, with blue backlight. It should be a great look when installed.

When you get the no crank try to start the car in neutral & see if it cranks then. I had a problem with my first Mustang & my first car (approx 1976-77) a 1970 Coupe that would not start in park, I would have to put it in neutral to start. IIRC it was the neutral/back up switch that fixed it, but then again that was some 46 years ago & the memory is not what it used to be.

Thanks for all the suggestions, I have used fat Matt, I believe Mike I got some from you a couple years ago.  I’ve also used some duct insulation from Lowe’s, that has a foil cover. I used it on my other car.  I found some dyna mat  on sale the other day on Amazon, so I bought a box of it. It’s pretty easy to use, but once it solidifies, it’s hard as hell to get off. I agree.

Was wondering if there was any kind of foam or other insulation you could put inside your backseats to quiet it down from there. Any suggestions would be appreciated

Began dynamatting inside of rear quarters and rear structure to quiet down the car

    Prepped for welding!

Not thrilled with how this panel goes together. Will have to rework it later

    Ready to come off table

Thankfully my lift had one more lift left in it before the seals blew lol

    Mounting the rotisserie

    Mounted!

Still SO MUCH welding to go. But i'm having a great time.

I use peel n seal from Lowes. Same stuff as dynamat- it's just a little thinner and like 20% of the price of dynamat or fatmat. You could always double or triple the layers if you really wanted to. Rubbery/tar like adhesive and aluminum skin. Can't rust, wont come off easily, its a water tight seal, and really works.
Watch these vid for info for what I did:

Will do inside of door skins when the time comes. Roof is also done.

    Hi Vic,
I am planning on using the RTX gauges. I ran the 2 ground wires one from the sender & one from the fuel pump to one of the gas tank bolts.

Put the Mustang up on jack stands so I can get under it & start running the fuel lines.

I went with this one: https://www.summitracing.com/parts/SDM-PCE106-1007
Height wise it was fine with a stock manifold (351c) and a summit carb.  The adjustment holes were off, and I had to drill new holes on the base plate.  I think it looks good installed.

I am with ya... I needed 3 beers after writing that darn post. Let me know if I can clarify anything.
The video created by American AutoWire is a bit more generic and they use their wiring kit as a reference point. I still have the original Ford wiring harnesses in the car, so I created the diagram using the Ford wiring diagram as a reference point. It helps me keep things in context, because I will surely forget what I did a month later and have to spend time retracing my steps to refresh my memory.

Phew. Super mind-bending day at work and just read this. I appreciate it, have not thought about keeping the NSS active but probably not a bad idea. The video is simples, nice easy bit of work.
I'll digest it later when my brain is not telling to go to the fridge and take 3 beers in quick succession (like a Doctor says take some pills and call me later, beer fixes my issues)

I had to share this. I was watching a video about NASA making solid state batteries for air taxies, and other vehicles... like flying cars. The rendering looks a lot like a 69. I wonder if this is Marty McFly's new ride?

    Heads

Picked up an Offenhauser dual plane. I had some recommended machining done, had it cleaned. Painted the heads and intake with Eastwood's ceramic engine paint. I may use this instead of the single plane intake.

Tacked the RH quarter on, has a subtle 2" bumpout.

Bots are hitting the site and causing the issues.  I am working with tech support still to try and fix it.  I thought it was already resolved.  There is another issue with upgrading the forum software I need to take care of but it currently crashes the entire forum so I am unwilling to do so until I have ample time to devote to it.  I am hoping to have the bot issue resolved by the end of the week.
Just a little update for you guys.  Bandwidth upgrade would only be a bandaid and not a full solution, so do not feel obligated to donate any more money.  And thanks for your donations so far that should cover the monthly losses for the remainder of the year.

Hi Vic,  I have been following your build project for a long time, but its been a while since I visited the site, or posted anything. Your Electrical issue is a common problem with the 1970 model year (only), powder coating or not. The reason is that the parking lights and directional signals, which all share the same circuit and same bulbs (with the except of the turn signals in the standard Mach 1 hood), Ford, probably to reduce cost, went from a three wire to a two wire configuration on this circuit. The Ford electrical engineers, got creative and alternated the current across the two wire system. Essentially, on a 1970 model, the ground for each bulb is in series and not in parallel like it was before and after the 1970 model year, which a use a three wire parallel ground system, with the third wire being ground wire. What the two system does is sends 12v positive thru one wire and seeks ground thru the other and then reverses the positive and negative signal. In order to find ground, the system must pass thru each bulb (in series) on it's circuit until it does. Typically ground is found in the turn signal hood ground or under the dash. This passing thru each bulb becomes a problem when a bulb filament or the bulb fixture is failing. Finding the offending bulb can be frustrating. It's like find that one little burned out bulb on that string of 50 bulbs not lighting on the Christmas tree. Ford after seeing the error in their ways, switch back to a three wire  in 1971.
By you adding a ground wire at the bulb fixture to the chassis or fixture housing, you essentially gave the system another place to find ground. You put part of the ground system back to parallel, where the system can fin ground, in some cases, without having to pass thru a bulb to get there.
When I restored my 1970, I added a thirds wire  for ground to each light fixture or I replace the fixture with the equivalent fixture from the 1969 model year which was designed with the third wire for ground. So my 70 Mach 1 has a 1969 valence and front and side three wire parking/turn signal light fixtures.
The third attachment, I don't know created it, but it was very helpful to me when I was chasing electrical gremilins.
