    Time for an Update!!!

ok so a lot has gone on with the car since the last update. Roof is on, Minitubs are in, back seat brackets are in, doors are lined up, drip rails are welded in.... probably other stuff. Watch the vid!

My obsessiveness with symmetry is really paying off.

Here are some pics of the progress:

I am ecstatic with how well the rear of the car came together.

Doors are finally properly aligned. This was a lot of work figuring out why the dr side would not mate with the quarter. Explanation in the video. (had to cut out some metal to make it fit property)

Wow, good to have the site back....
I got my new carpet and laid out on my pool table to let it flatten out.  (my wife was very excited about this).
Going to the shop tomorrow to inspect my convertible top install, and then the car will be home soon.....

Paid for the next tier which has unmetered bandwidth (another $10 a month for a total of $30).  One issue down.  Still need to upgrade the forum software to keep the spam out.  That will be fun for another day/2days back and forth with their support.

    Nice, car.
Nice work, really well done and clean.
The body lines are super straight.
The car used to have a vinyl top. What color was it?

Loaded up a custom tune for the Sniper unit, then went for a drive with the local Mustang Club.
Did not realize the route was going to take all day, ended up putting 225 miles on the car!

    Mach1,
Here's a couple of quick shots, along with my disaster of a shop. I'll get around to updating my build thread one of these days.
    Here's a couple of quickies.

    Hi Mike
This is just a result of my design theme for the car. So, personal preference
The black front  bumper is intentional, as I wanted a blacked out front end, so my bumper, billet grill, and all of the headlight and hood trim is satin black powdercoat.

I also did not want any chrome or brightwork below the window line.  So you see my mirrors, door handles and lock cylinders are also black.
But, I did not want a black rear bumper, so did that body color.
Your observation on the rear quarters is interesting. Great question.   I don’t see many ‘69 or ‘70 coupes/convertibles at car shows, so will need to do some research on that.
My sheet metal is original, except for the hood and trunk lid.   My car was built in November of 1969 at the Dearborn plant.  So, maybe it does have left over ‘69 rear quarter panels.  I also removed the front and rear side marker lights, so it does look much different than stock.  And, no emblems, letters, or rocker panel trim on the car.

Thanks to all who got the site up and running again.  This is a great group and we need to find a way to keep it going.
Every time the site goes out, I feel like we just got kicked out of the Fraternity house and have no where else to go....

You do not need to remove the shift handle to install that switch, it is installed on the transmission over the shift shaft.

Console installed temporarily so I can use the power windows.   Taking the car to get the top put on in about a week.
    Installed my steering wheel.
And, put almost all my tools away, so the end is near.

I finally finished installing the dash pad.  A chore for me.  I would rather take my engine out....
But, think it looks good, especially with the color matched dash panels.
I also finished my console top plate.  I put black Di-Noc on it, and it came out pretty well.
Next mini-project is to install the rear quarter window power window actuators. That requires a little cutting. Thanks to the Forum members for helping with hints on that.

Catching up on the latest mini-project.
Got the power door locks and remote trunk release working.
Getting close to the finish line with testing out all my "gadgets", preparing to button up the dash.

Randy I am late to the conversation, but I have a pic of where it goes from when I had the pedal hanger out of my 69 Coupe to have the roller pedal mod done.

Wired up and did an electrical check out of my keyless entry system, which uses remote control keyfobs to lock/unlock doors, and open the trunk.  This got a little complicated, as the trunk release function uses a “negative trigger” signal to actuate the trunk release.  I will post something in the technical forum on how to do this once I get it all permanently installed.

Yesterday I located the spot where I am going to mount the inline fuel filter bracket, bent the fuel line that will run from the fuel filter along the sub-frame connector to the base of the firewall.

Over the past few days I started making up the new fuel lines. I got the one from the fuel tank to where the inline fuel filter will be & cut a section of line that I just have to bend from the inline filter to the hole in the torque box.

Got the Fox Body door locks, and they are great OEM quality parts.   Just had to install the lock rod retainer on the other side of the lever, and they went right in.  The new style plastic retainers are really heavy duty, more so than the original plastic insert with the little metal clips. Tip is to install that on door lock before putting the lock in the car.  Less busted knuckles that way....
