Mike, Try a craft store for some felt like what would be used inside the drawers of a jewelery box, & you could glue it on.

That is how I did mine, I just plug welded it.

Today I spent about 1 hour working on some issues with the Coupe, 1st I trimmed the new r/s trunk drop off to fit & 2nd being the repo inner wheel house is NOT the same contour as the repo outer wheel house I couldnt use it so I just cut a patch piece from it to repair my almost perfect original inner wheel house which had only a 1"X 2" rot hole in the front lower section where the inner & outer wheel houses meet, so I will patch it. I will get some pics on Monday & post them then.

I figured it was just a typo. LOL!!!

Today I finished removing the remainder of the old outer wheel house, & test fitted the new outer wheel house. Next to be fitted is the trunk drop off & the quarter skin.

I think he is talking about doing to his car like what they did on the show overhaulin where they cut a fastback quarter at the top body line & basically used it as a skin & put it on a Vert.

Nice work.:thumbup1:

Mike, If you had the Mach-1 scoop on it the holes for the turn signals will be outside the shaker area so if you want a shaker set up you will need another hood.

Today it was a nice comfortable 74 degrees so I rolled out the Coupe & spent a couple hours cutting out the rotted section of the trunk drop off, & starting to remove the remaining section of the outer wheel house. I also was able to remove the remaining section of the quarter skin in the door jamb area to get ready for the fitting of the new quarter skin, except I found some rot at the lower section of the "B" pillar just like I had on the other side. Time to pull out the piece of sheet metal & make a piece for there.

The Cougar P/W would probably a bolt in system for a 69/70 Coupe.

When I click on the link it is comming up saying web page cannot be found, so I just typed in the Mustang news & found the story.

Here is the tail light panel I used installed on my Coupe. I believe it was a Dynacorn piece.

The link is not working.

When I lived west of Rochester, NY I had bought some stuff from Mac's in Buffalo , NY & they were good to deal with.

Thanks foir the info Nick.

On your last pic of the rust hole in the rear lower of the door you could just replace the door skin as long as the door shell is good. My r/s door on my 69 Coupe had 2 holes like that 1 in the front lower & 1 in the rear lower of the door & I replaced the door skin, was'nt very hard to do.

Where did you purchase it from?.

Looking good. :thumbup1:

+1 looks great. I have to do that to mine also.

I got all but the top portion of the outer wheel house where it is welded to the inner wheel house cut off. I next have to cut off the rotted section of the trunk drop off & the rest of the outer wheel house & test fit the new outer wheel house & quarter skin.

Next step after completeing metal work & paint?
Mike65 replied to Mike65's topic in 1969-70 Technical Forum
I am going to use the AAW 69 Mustang harness kit as my old harness's were trash, I am going to use stock type front disc brakes, & I am still undecided on whether to use a coil over front suspension with rack & pinion steering or stock style suspension with a stock steering box. I was also looking at an IFS from jim meyer racing, or a steeroids kit from speed direct. Mike. -
I believe all the emblems have the engine size number on an insert that goes into the base.
-
Today I spent about 1 hour in the garage with my soldering torch heating & scraping off the old undercoating from the inner wheel house & what is left of the out wheelhouse. I couldnt work any longer then that as it was 85 degrees & humid.

After I am done with the r/s rear quarter skin & outer wheel house I have the l/s front floor, toe board, torque box & the front l/s & r/s inner fender panels & that should be it on the sheet metal work. Next up would be paint. I am hoping to have the metal work done by the end of the year. Once the car comes back from the painter what should be done next? I was thinking re-wire the car, re-build the engine. Any ideas or suggestions welcome. Mike.
