  1. Looking good. What brand wheels are those? Very nice looking
  2. Awesome looking car for sure. I agree with what has been said before. Clean, clean clean. I used to run a very large car show on the east coast and the amount and quality of cars was amazing. What we also saw, even with prepping the judges as much as we could, it sometimes still comes down to personal taste for that judge. Cars were always spotless, but you could see variations of judging, just based solely on the judge. If it is important to win trophies, I would suggest, like someone else did, ask for the judging sheet to see where you are getting dinged. If it is a particular area all the time, then you know where to focus on improvements for either looks, modifications, or cleanliness. As far as making changes on the car, I would ask, what did you build the car for? If you built it for shows and to win trophies, then you may need to make some changes to meet what the judges are looking for. If you built it just to have fun and maybe enter some shows and try to win some trophies, then I think just enjoy the car. That is an awesome looking car and very unique looking.
  3. Awesome work. Love the upgrades and all of it looks great.
  4. Looks great!!! Love the stance and the stripes!!! Great job!
  5. Great looking car, good luck with the sale!!!
  6. Hey P1, I have a Unisteer PS rack with a Saginaw pump. I did not have any issues with the install. The only modification I made on their mounting bracket was opening up the holes for the lower control arms adjustments. I use the Camber Kit from SoT so I needed a bit more room to be able to make adjustments. Pump and Rack and a good match, good road feel with no issues. I had no other issues with that rack and I have a big block with headers. No clearance issues at all. I am sure there are any issues with any of these cars as old as they are, so that is always a possibility. Scott
  7. I really like Shaun. I talked with him several times before buying from him and never felt any pressure to buy anything at all. I have had it on the car for a couple of years now. I don't drive it at much as I would like, and with some other issues the car was in the shop more last year than on the road. I could say it has a couple of thousand miles on it with zero issue. I had heard people talk about the turning radius of the R&P's but to be honest I can turn so much sooner now than I could with my previous set up this is a non issue for me. I could even turn the wheel before unless I was moving forward. Did the shops provide any specifics about why they didn't like the unisteer? Was it the complete kit? The rack itself?
  8. Hey Nick, As I mentioned in your other suspension thread, I would call Shaun at Street or Track. He has all of the options, from the roller perches to full coil over set up, with different shock options. I am using a unisteer that Shaun recommended and I could not be happier. It is a solid kit and works great. Good feedback, good road feel, much better than what I had previously. I wanted power set up, with a big block and large tires, I needed a power setup. There are certainly a lot of options out there, but I could not be happier with my suspension and steering set up. Even if you don't buy from Shaun he is a great to talk with and will give you a lot of info. Scott
  9. Not a bad option at all. Keeps your 428 intact for future and you can run the stroker for now. Good thing is the build is just like a regular rebuild with nothing special to do. Main reason I went stroker is because by the time I bought new parts and reconditioned what I had, it wasn't that much more to move up with more cubic inches.
  10. I have to agree with Max on this one. The FE is a cool to have, but for the money and ease, Windsors are a great option and can be built for great power. Only reason I went with a FE on my build cause my car was originally an S code car. If it wasn't for that I would not have built my car with an FE. Even a stroked 302 based motor makes good power and you don't have any of the other issues to deal with a Big Block conversion. Personally i would spend the money on the best motor and tranny you can get and not have the additional expense of the big block conversion.
  11. Nick, I said it earlier in the thread and will say it again. I would call a couple of places and talk options with them with what you are looking to do and how you drive the car, with how it is already set up. I have never bought anything from Open tracker, but always hear great things about them. I did however buy my suspension set up from Shaun at Street or Track. We talked multiple times and he gave me several options to pick from with no pressure at all to buy from him. In the end, I did fork out the money for the coil over set up and power rack and pinion, but my car has never driven and handled better. My car was similar to yours. I had the newer spec alignment done, but it would walk terribly on roads, hit the brakes and it would shoot one way or the other, and the steering box was crap, with larger tires, big block and no power, I hated it. Since the upgrade, the Unisteer PS has great feel, no header clearance issues, and the ride is great. I have no noise from the suspension, it is nice and tight and doesn't beat the crap out of me like my old set up did over a small bump. Best of all I am not nervous about hitting the brakes and the car diving off into one direction. I am not saying that you have to get the coil overs to accomplish that, but for the options that I was looking at it was not that much more to get into, and it was what I really wanted. Lots of options out there so good luck. Scott

    Side stripes

I like that stripe and think it would go good with the rest of the look of the car.
  13. What is the rest of the exhaust set up? Shorty headers, long tubes, x pipe, h pipe? Like Mike said sometime changing other components than the mufflers actually helps the drone as well. Scott
  14. Love the attention to detail. AWESOME WORK!!!!
  15. I would lower the rear at least a 1/2 in as you mentioned, but a 1 in would probably be better.
  16. Congrats! Car looks great! Nice to see another Classic in the area. I am in the Cary area. Scott
  17. AGREED!!!!! On side note, I usually like a little bit lower stance than stock, unless it is a full original restoration. Some of it is person preference as well, so it is hard to really say for sure. But I totally agreed with fvike!
  18. Car is looking good. Actually saw your car on Instagram earlier this week.
  19. Thanks Bob. I think that one and this one are my favorite
  20. That is AWESOME. Great work and nice collection of cars. Can you provide any more details on the Shelby and Mach?
  21. I don't think that will work as the gauge and the electric fan operate differently I believe. The Electric fan is usually an on/off based on the temp of the coolant. The gauge needs different output for the gauge to work properly. I actually had to change my gauge sensor when I went from the autometer single gauge to the Dakota Digital gauges. I was told the gauges were calibrated for the that particular sensor. Not sure if that is true or not, I didn't test the theory.
