thanks for all the info , I am going to go with coil overs but do I stay with the stock steering ? i am going to try and do the work my self

As mentioned previously, I upgraded to the Unisteer PS set up for a couple of reasons.  My manual box was wore out and was not fun to drive.  I also wanted to switch to a PS setup as I have a bigblock, with wide front ties and was converting to a 5 speed, and honestly didn't feel safe doing that with the manual set up. I never liked the stock style PS set up so opted for the Unisteer set up.  I have no complaints and it has worked great for me and was very easy to install.

Coilovers i would look at Street or Track, Shaun is great to deal with he develops and uses what he sells.

Upgraded stock style you can also look at Street or Track or Opentracker Racing, John and Sherri are both great to deal with.  Give either ORP or SorT a call and talk to them about what you are trying to accomplish with your car.  They won't steer you wrong and won't over sale you something you don't need just to make a buck.

Agree 100% with this.  I personally talked to Shaun multiple times before deciding to buy from him, and have heard the same about John and Sherri.  Shaun talked through all of the options, multiple times and I never once felt I was being sold or pushed to anything I didn't want.  I ended up with his full coilover setup with Street valving and Unisteer PS and COULD NOT BE HAPPIER.  Can't go wrong with either option and for sure they will have something to fit whatever budget you have!

Looking at the instructions I wonder if mine was an earlier version that didn't have the brake option. I sure don't remember it and it seems SO obvious in the instructions. I bought mine about 4 years ago.

Yeah I guess it could be.  I just bought mine earlier this year.   That is one of the reasons I liked this kit as I didn't want sequential for the brake lights.

I have all of VintageLED lights throughout my car, including corner, reverse and park, and the quality has been perfect. I had some internal wiring issues to resolve from the previous owner but Gary worked tirelessly to helped me out.

If there was one very small thing I wish was different and that's the application of the brake lights. When you press the brakes both lights come on immediately and simultaneously as expected but 'sequentially' across each unit. I wish it would just come on with 100% of the bulbs instantly.

If I remember correctly there is a dip switch that you can flip or a dial you can turn that will be full on for brake and not sequential, unless you tap the brakes quickly.  That is how mine are, as I did not want sequential on the brake lights, only on the turn signal.  I added the instructions from Gary below.

  5. I too installed the Vintage LED set up recently.  You can see it is pixelated some compared the stock bulb with just the lights on. But as bright as they are, I should have done it much sooner and VERY HAPPY with the quality and ease of install of the Vintage LED product.  I did the front turn signals and back up lights as well.   Here is a quick video as well of the, it does flare the camera a little as bright as they are, but I love the setup.  I also like that when you hit the brakes it can do just solid and on sequential.

Yeah I’ve got a similar setup on my mustang as well for my FiTech . In tank pod style factory pump. It’s awesome and so quiet you can’t hear it .
On this build I’m gonna stay with a carb but want to run a return line just incase I go injected in the future.
Just make sure the PTFE fuel line you ran is not the cheap stuff. The fuel running through the line can create a charge and if it does it will arc through the plastic causing pin holes. My mate found out the hard way and the fuel hose has pin holes everywhere.

Understood.  You could possibly do the same set up just use the Carb Regulator.  If you ever switch to EFI, just swap out the regulator.

And yes the right PTFE is not cheap and I did get the good stuff as I read the same things about the pin holes.  Certainly didn't want that issue.

  7. When I first converted to EFI, I had an external pump and had issues with vapor locking with heat.  Converted to the Aeromotive Drop in pump and never looked back.   I ran PTFE lines up the passenger side, just on the outside of Subframe connectors.  Put the regulator in the passenger fender well and deadhead the feed to the FiTech unit, which it is capable of handling.  That way I am not sending fuel into the engine bay to get heated and sending it back to the tank.  Just trying to keep as much heat out of the fuel as possible.  Seems to be working so far in NC summer heat.  Can't even hear the pump with the car on.

  8. Call Shaun at Street or Track and talk to him as well.  Great guy and very knowledgeable and great product.  I am running it front coilover set up and could not be happier.  He never tried to sell me anything, just talked about the advantages of what he offers.  Lots of options out there and good people to talk to.,  Get as much info as you can and decide what is best for you.  Can't go wrong with either of them.

can you tell me a little bit about how you lowered your car?

Its pretty "basic".  I am running Street Or Track coil over setup up front and adjusted to the height I liked and needed for clearance (Damn long tubes).  The rear is mid eye spring with 2 in lower blocks. Fenders were all rolled at body shop when it was in for paint to make as much room for the larger tires as possible.

Thanks. I shot the picture on 06.27.2020. As you can see by the snow on the inside of the corner, the track is true to it's name. It's called the Arctic Circle Raceway, ACR for short. The track is located 19 miles south of the Arctic Circle. I live some 71 miles south of the Raceway. There was a lot of snow this winter, and the racetrack is  situated over an old quarry up in the hills. I don't remember the elevation right now.

At my brother's flickr account you can see all the pictures I took that day.

The northernmost corner is also the highest corner on the track. It's called the North Pole. Pictured here.

In the bottom of that corner, a little left of the half-nude man (LOL) is the place where I had my crash with my Mustang.

Those are some great pictures.  Thanks for sharing

    2 things:

    1. that CUDA is bad ASS!!

    2. WTF ?? HAHA - The track is located 19 miles south of the Arctic Circle - that is a bit crazy to think about.

Hope to get to see yours back on the track soon.
