  1. Has anybody every used ARP PERMA-LOC Rocker Arm Adjusters (Polylocks)? They claim that the Rocker Arm will not loosen which to me means no more periodic valve lashing. Thanks, Scott

  3. My '69 has front disc and rear drum. On the front disc there is a spring clip attached to a pin on the outside pad. What is the trick to removing these clips? I tried tried compressing the clips then pull backward but it still doessn't budge. Thanks for your help. Scott

  5. Thanks Mach1Rider. I'll check the front pad level and bleed the brakes as a first step.
  6. Hey guys, I've got a brake question for you. I have Power Assist brakes; front disc, rear drum. I noticed that some brake fluid was leaking from the top of the master cylinder. When I pulled the top off the cylinder I noticed the front resevoir was very full (almost spilling out) and the rear resevoir was over an inch low. I got a new cylinder gasket, cleaned the outside of the cylinder up, topped off the brake fluid in the rear resevoir then re-installed the top. I tweaked the hold down clamp a bit so it would fit real snug. After this I went for a ride. When I got back I had mucho brake fluid seeping out from the top of the master cylinder. Most of it was on the front end (small resevoir side). Is the Master Cylinder bad or is this something else? I did the Power Booster test (pump brakes with engine off to dump vacuum then start engine with foot on brake) and the pedal did move down about and inch. Thanks, Scott
  7. Thanks for the information. I'm always learning something new about this car..gotta love it.
  8. I've always wondered about the green dial pointer in the passenger side clock. Does anyone know what it is/was intented to do? Thanks, Scott 1969 Mach 1 351C Stroker - 4 Speed
  9. Mach1, Thank for the info. I'll measure and see what I've got.
  10. About 8K on the motor but the previous owner did the build.
  11. Mike, The teeth on the dizzy look good and the total timing checked out at 37. I appreciate the caliper suggestion. Thanks, Scott
  12. This is a photo of my 351C looking down the dizzy hole. It appears that there has been some grinding of the seat (not sure what else to call it) next to the camshaft gear. I'm running a comp cam 282S (solid) with a Mallory Unilite Mech Advance Dizzy (steel shaft). The gear on the dizzy looks good and I don't see any issues with the small piece of the cam gear I can see down the shaft. I pulled the dizzy because I was seeing higher than normal timing (25 @ 900 rpm) on a routine check of my timing light. Other than that cars starts and runs good. I couldn't find any pictures 'down the dizzy hole' online so I would appreciate it if I could get your input on the probable cause and severity of the problem. Thanks alot, Scott 1969 Mach 1, 351C Stroker, 4 speed, Restomod
  13. Does anyone know what size the bolt head is for the 351C crank? I tried a 15/16 but it seems a little loose. Thanks, Scott 1969 Mach1 351C Stroker, 4 speed.
  14. Thanks, I appreciate the reply.
  15. Merry Christmas from Texas! I have a 1969 Mach1 with a 351C stroker & 4 Speed Toploader. For ignition I have an older Mallory Unilite dizzy - mechanical advance with Mallory cylindrical coil and ballast resistor. First off the car starts and runs good. When I first start the car and let it warm up the timing is consistently at 17-19 BTDC (900 RPM). If I rev the car up to 2000 RMP it will eventually settle back to 900 RPM but the timing will now be around 23-24 BTDC, which doesn't seem correct to me. At 3000 RPM the total advance is 37. I decided to have a look under the cap. I checked the Unlite module and Coil out (Multi-meter) using the instructions provided by Mallory and both tested OK. I also had a look at the advance springs and noticed that one spring has no tension to it (although it is still attached to its posts). Also, the rotor does not 'snap back' when i twist it (clockwise or counter clockwise). There is a small amount of play (either dirction) in the rotor. I'm not sure if I have any issues here or not. I would greatly appreciate your comments and suggestions. Thanks, Scott
  16. Hey guys, I just received a console woodgrain insert for my '69 top plate from Mustangs Unlimited. There is a drill template that ambigiously references heat staking the insert pins. I figured this has something to do with melting plastic but I have no experience in this area. Can someone please enlighten me on this technique and any tools I might need to get the job done? Regards, Scott
  17. Found it at Napa. Much appreciated.

  19. Any ideas where I can find the 4A accessory fuse for my '69 Mach 1? I tried Auto-Zone and Oreilly's but all they had was a mini assortment that include 3A and 5A fuses. Thanks, Scott
