  1. Looking for an original 69 fastback rust free trunk lid. NOS an option if it exists. any help appreciated.
  2. A fellow enthusiast has found the part for me and is shipping. Thanks to all for the help. I need the bracket that is spot welded on the underside of the transmission tunnel. The shifter/boots bolt to this piece. I would prefer a whole piece, but can work with half of one. Below is a picture of what's left of mine. I believe they are all the same from 64 to 70. I'm willing to pay. contact thru this forum. Thanks.
  3. I'm interested in the same thing as mustangman. I want mine to be hidden, so spectators don't see an aftermarket box. any reason not to put it inside the front fenderwell? maybe protect it with a stone shield? these units are sealed? is there an issue with water?
  4. not sure of the state of your car, but is notching the under-hood bracing an option?
  5. congratulations! looks like we are almost neighbors. i'm about 20 miles south of you in maineville...
  6. what part of the floor plan are you replacing? there are several welding methods. i would recommend using plug welds (or rosette) on places where the factory used a spot welder. i generally butt weld metal together in places where it wasn't originally a factory joint or seam. many people will flange the metal and weld the entire seam. butt welds generally take more time though.
  7. i think you'll have to dig into your torque boxes and front floor supports. try to salvage your originals if possible. if not, i would recommend the dynacorn two piece designs. they are close to original with some modification. i have photos of this area if interested.
  8. I don't want really change the topic of this thread :scared:, but... Someone did take what looked like a ball peen hammer to the towers on both sides. I used some heat with some hammer/dolly work to get them nice and flat again They didn't have any holes. I made the wrap arounds (similar to the 428 and boss 302 cars) for some strength. I have photos of the shock towers before doing this at the same website. The towers are in excellent condition. I didn't want to pay the sick amount of money for the aftermarket kit. Plus I thought the kit would look terrible. http://s258.photobucket.com/albums/hh270/buckeyedemon/69%20Mustang%20Mach%201/shock%20towers/
  9. here is a link to what I have so far. I will pick this back up in the spring. http://s258.photobucket.com/albums/hh270/buckeyedemon/69%20Mustang%20Mach%201/Shaker%20Fit/
  10. i have the same issue. although i have a 351W with a victor jr. i started making the mod and had to get the car up on the rotisserie before completion. i thought maybe the 429 example would work, but it won't. i have the base cut (428) and the carb hole temporarily relocated in approximately the correct location. the shaker base almost completely covers the carburetor, so i'm going to notch the backside of the base for the throttle linkage. i'm going to have to cut the shaker midplate (under the scoop), and allow a smaller diameter lid and filter to extend thru the midplate up into the scoop (thus no vacuum unit). i'm hoping to get back to that project in the next few months. i have a few photos if interested.
  11. The Boss 302 site has some nice information about shakers. http://www.boss302.com/shaker.htm
  12. i personally wouldn't replace the full length unless they are soft. i replaced just forward of the shock tower. i've documented the process at the following link: http://s258.photobucket.com/albums/hh270/buckeyedemon/69%20Mustang%20Mach%201/passenger%20side%20front%20frame%20rail/ Look for the Fender Apron's folder and the Front Crossmember folders as you will need to dig into these as well. (the pictures in those folders are not in time order yet). good luck
