  1. I have not installed it yet, but I am planning to use this kit in my 70 Mach 1. The kit uses commonly available modern GM window motors. They also sell a quarter window kit.
  2. My lower cowl was not salvageable. I also need to replace the footwell or lower part of the firewall over torque boxes, passenger side torque box and the inner passenger kickboard/vent area below the A-Pillar. With all that needed to be done, it just made sense to replace the cowl instead of repairing it. I was able to salvage the original outer cowl with its date stamp. I should give credit to my buddy John who has done this work before, and without his help and experience, I would not have tackled it by myself. Next, we will install the upper cowl and replace lower firewall and floors. Stay tuned....
  3. Thanks, but the picture is not my interior yet. I have a ways to go, but when done that what it will look like.
  4. Converted my non-A/C dash to use the stock left and right lower dash A/C vents. Someone had punched a 3/4" hole in my original dash in the area where the A/C vents go, so it was either trash it or turn it into an A/C dash. Made left and right templates of the holes from an original A/C dash and then cut the holes on my non-A/C dash. Fortunately, that allowed me to salvage my original dash and use it with a pair of stock A/C vents I bought. I'll go with a Classic air aftermarket system for the rest. Does anybody need a real nice original bare-bones 69-70 Mustang A/C dash? I have one for sale.
  5. 0n 70s the driver side plug the third/red wire is for the key reminder buzzer. The buzzer sounds when key is in the ignition lock and the drivers door is open and. The passenger side has two wires. Blue w/black strip and green for 12v power to interior lights. These two wires are also wire 1 & 2 in driver's side plug.
  6. Glad you found it. Sometimes it's hard to chase down those electrical gremlins.
  7. As Midlife states, when you ground either socket pins you are essentially completing the circut directly at that bulb which circumvents the way the system would seek ground normally. It will always test good that way. Remember the brown parking wire is positive and seeks ground thru the white/blue and white/green passing thru other bulbs to get there. That ground connection can come from the ground wire for the hood signal lights if you have them or the dash ground, etc. The directional switch in the column plays games with the + and - when LH or RH the blinker is on. It's a mess, if you ask me.
  8. Did a stock 1970 351C (m-code) engine have a carb spacer or some kind of egr plate, or was the carb mounted directly on the intake manifold? Thanks
  9. The 70 side marker wiring is a rube golderberg. Ford engineers were trying to be clevor by making the side markers blink alternately with the front and rear markers. I don't care if the side markers flash alternately with the front and rear markers. So, I just converted my 70 parking light wiring over to work as it does in a 69 and 71-73 years. I used 69 front markers with three wire plugs (the plug includes the ground wire whereas the 70 marker does not). I changed the 70 front marker harness from a two plug connector to a three plug and wired the third plug wire (ground) from the 69 front marker to chassis ground by way of the new three plug connector on the 70 harness . I then rewired the LH green/white and RH blue/white front and rear side marker wires to go to chassis ground. I left the brown (parking light) wire alone as it is. That's all. Now the side markers work only as parking lights and no longer flash alternately with the front and rear markers (same as it does on the 69, 71-73 cars), and chasing down ground and bulb issues is much more straight forward and easier.
  10. I really like my Eaton Truetrac hemispherical limited slip. I have pair it with a set of Yukon 3.50 ring and pinion gears. The Eaton acts like a open rear until you get on it.
  11. Thanks. Unfortunately it does not work with A/C installed.
  12. Hmm. Curious why? Appreciate if you would elaborate why you don't "trust" it. I not all that experienced with it. Thanks

  14. Just picked up a Lencospot Mark II Autobody Dual-Spot Welder Model L4000 for $400. Anybody have or used one before? I am not an experienced welder. Any advice and pointers on how to use it would be appreciated.
  15. The guy spent a full 8 hours doing the car inside, out and underneath, and a bunch of other parts, and then debris clean up afterward. Cost $1,200. He removed much of the undercoating and sound deadening in the wheel wells and firewall. The guy said that it is hard to get it all off. I did tell him to skip the floor pans since they were going to be replaced.
  16. I recently had my 70 mach dustless media blasted right in my driveway. Dustless uses a mixture of water with a rust inhibitor. It does not create any heat, so no possibility of warping. I had it done two months ago and I am pleased with the result. Although I have to say it still created a mess of the area and I am still blowing media out of the car's nooks and crannies. I have not primed it yet and still no flash rust. Getting ready to sand and prime it. I plan on using a gallon of Evercoat super build 4:1 with a quart of 4:1 catalyst and then work up to a 2k primer for blocking.
  17. I'll post what I find out.. Update: I found this on a Bronco aftermarket website: https://www.wildhorses4x4.com/product/Steering_Pump_Bracket_Kit/Bronco_Extreme_Duty_Steering_Pumps The pump bracket should work with the Saginaw press-fit style pump that comes with the Borgeson kit. Not sure about the bracket to the block, but it looks like it would be easy to modify if need be and for $60 I may give it a try. Found this on another site, where someone adapted a 460ci bracket from a 78-79 E350 to their 351M Bronco.
  18. I am considering installing a Borgeson P/S conversion kit in my 70 Mach 1 Cleveland 351C 4v with Manual P/S (e.g. Tremec 5 spd so no Z-bar, Borgeson, Global West). I understand the Saginaw pump Borgeson uses higher pressure pump than the stock Ford OEM type. By using the Ford pump does not provide as much power assist at low RMPs. Anyone using.. the Ford OEM or the Saginaw pump that Borgeson provides with the manual conversion kit on their Cleveland? Second question, Borgeson does not have a P/S pump bracket for their Saginaw pump when installing it on a 351C. March Performance has one that works with the Saginaw on Cleveland non-A/C cars only. Anyone, find a Saginaw pump bracket that works on a 351C with A/C (either Stock or aftermarket A/C like Classic Air) or is my only option to use the stock Ford pump and brackets with A/C and the Borgeson P/S conversion kit and live with less power assist at low RPMs? Thanks, Rich

  20. Aside from the exterior lighting harnesses, there are many differences between the 69 and 70 models. For example, the Mach 1 had wire provision for the grill sport lamps and on/off switch on the dash, The headlight switch is different (unique)... it mounts like a 69, but internally operates like a 71-73 switch. Also, the ignition wiring is completely different because of the 70s column ignition and neutral safety switch. For the CD to work you must run the Forel installation. There are two parts first the actual diagram files and then the PDF Owner Guard (registration) software. Finally, you must install separately Adobe "Acrobat Reader DC". Then launch the PDF Owner Guard icon and register your copy using the registration key in your CD case. It's well worth the time to figure out what's broken and get it working. Anyway here are copies of the Exterior lights wiring diagrams for the 69 & 70 models.
  21. I have installed a number of the forel cds for my 73 and 70 mach and a couple of master parts list cds as well. I can send you a scanned copy of the exterior electrical diags from my cd. I am also a computer professional, maybe I can walk you thru the install.
